Official Selection Day 1 – Between Solitude and Connection⭐️
Belonging to intimate and tender explorations. Films that delve into what it means to find connection and solitude with oneself, the space, time and each other.

Films selected:
📹 (Re) United by @antoinemarcmove
A heartwarming short dance film. Anticipation, joy, fear and excitement leading up to the moment siblings reunite after being separated for over half of their lives.

📹 Caught by @joris.verdonkschot
A dance of opposites.

📹 Corralling of Circles by @siyetao
This short film is a far cry of the impulses to escape from a suffocating but all-too-familiar setting, which erodes our souls. The circular shapes, repetitive tasks, swirling movements seem to carry the woman into a sinking hole. Can she finally break free and find her way out?

📹 Dayshift by @zere_trl
While cleaning a pole dance studio, a middle-aged woman drifts from routine into reverie.

📹 Einzelzimmer by @_k.l.i.l_ & @matthias.vaucher
A body travels through an old building. This body might have been there before the building was even built or it might have emerged through the cracks in the walls after everyone left.

📹 IN VIADI by @alunmeyerhans & @ellenwooolf (@movingmountains.ch)
A journey back to oneself – an intimate yet profound act of reconnection.

Come see all these amazing movies!

And just like that, Radical Bodies & guests Dance Intensive comes to an end. ❤️‍🔥

A week full of movement, exploration, challenges, laughter, connection, and so many moments we’ll carry with us.

To everyone who joined us, showed up, supported us, and continues to be part of this journey: THANK YOU.

Thank you for trusting us, for believing in what we do, for coming back to our workshops, and for bringing your energy, your curiosity, and your beautiful, unique selves into the space.

We never take your presence for granted. Because the truth is, without you, none of this would exist.

Thank you for moving with us, growing with us, and making this journey so meaningful.

This is what Radical Bodies is all about. And we’re so grateful you’re part of it. 🖤

Until the next time we share the floor.

With love and gratitude,
Aurora & Safet 🫂🫶🏼

Contemporary
with Lino Eckenstein

when: 19. / 20. / 21. October 2026
where: Tanzhaus Basel
Time: 9:30 – 11:00
Language: German

Floorwork — Slides. Jumps. Spins.
Let’s play with dynamic, risk, and gravity. This class explores the body’s potential to slide, spin, and roll across the floor, pushing physical limits to access your full capacity. We explore the body’s surface and connection to the ground to take the most out of it.
Because the floor isn’t something to fear. It’s your partner, your resistance, your source of movement. We explore how to use its surface to build speed, momentum, and control - not through force, but through athletic, fearless surrender. Blending improvisation, strengthening drills, dynamic phrase work, and soft acrobatics - all grounded in the floor. You’ll learn to fall, roll, slide, spin, not as isolated tricks, but as integrated, expressive tools. This is where your body learns to trust itself. Where sweat meets breath. Where risk
becomes rhythm.

Lino Eckenstein was born in 2002 in Vienna, Austria. From 2021 until 2025 he was studying at Fontys Academy of the Arts Tilburg in the Netherlands where he worked on projects with Eastman Dance Company (Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), Cecilia Moisio and many others. In 2023 Lino started to work with ALLEYNE Dance as an Intern and Rehearsal Assistant on various Projects. For the season 2024/25 Lino
joined the ensemble of TANZ_Kassel where he worked with Andonis Foniadakis, Antonio Ruz, Andrea Peña and Noa Zuk. Since 2025 Lino is working as a freelance artist on projects with Damien Jalet, Piet Van Dyke, Christina Seewald and Vanholzer besides this he is teaching workshops in schools and programs all around Europe. With his company CRUELBEHAVIOR Projects he is collaborating with
other artists creating work on stage and on film.

The program is now live for @skin_festival_basel !!!

Was really honoured to co-curate the Skin Dance Films Installation with @lino.koichi for its 1st edition! The theme being “Bodies of Belonging” - a queer feminist meeting space for bodies that carry stories.

After hundreds of submissions we selected 22 dance films by FLINTA filmakers to be shown at @tanzhausbasel.
Tanzhaus Basel will transform into a cinematic space—sensual, wild, poetic, political, and at times completely surprising.
The films will be presented as an accessible installation featuring a daily changing program from the 28th of October - 31st.

Followed by an award ceremony on the 31st. Check out the program @skin_festival_basel
