“SKZ A3 Format Student Painting Storage Box, Room 442”
This artwork is a sculptural wooden box containing eight paintings. It represents the collective efforts of the students of room 442 in the imaginary State Art Academy, Zürich (SKZ). Installed @bozomag in 2024.

Oil and graphite on linen canvas, painted plywood, hardware Gallery installation view showing a sculptural wooden storage box from the imaginary State Art Academy, Zürich (SKZ), its hinged panels opened to reveal a set of eight paintings by the students of Room 442, painted directly onto the box's interior and exterior surfaces: stacked green ovals outlined in cream on the front face and a green star-like form against a cracked cream ground on an inner leaf, the joints trimmed in worn gilt edging, displayed open on a white pedestal like a folding screen or reliquary. Mounted on the wall behind, another panel from the same set presents a concentric target of green, black, and cream rings quartered by a cross. The weathered, hand-painted geometry and collective, workshop-based construction recall the target paintings of Jasper Johns or the weathered game-board aesthetic prized in American folk and outsider art collections. Signed by the students of Room 442, SKZ, with one name partially visible: "...ya ...brist."
