The past few days, I’ve had the privilege of picking up my camera for something that feels so much bigger than photography. I’ve been working with @projectstillme — a project created by Lisa Sylvester that shares the stories and images of women who have chosen aesthetic flat closure after mastectomy. I photographed women showing up exactly as they are. Strong, vulnerable, beautiful, funny, emotional, completely themselves. There were conversations. There were tears. There was so much laughter. And there were moments behind my camera where I found myself thinking about just how powerful it is to be trusted with someone’s story. As a photographer, I spend so much of my life documenting people. But every once in a while, I get to be part of something that reminds me why I picked up a camera in the first place. These past few days were that. Still strong. Still beautiful. Still here. Still me. 🤍 @projectstillme
