As this academic year comes to a close, we’re celebrating some #SuccessInTheNest ✨

Meet Nicholas Pisano, a 2025–2026 @SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence recipient and #Mathematics major, as he reflects on the faculty members who have supported and shaped his academic journey. Here’s a glimpse into his experience. 👇

“The faculty and staff in the Department of Mathematics have made this experience truly exceptional," said Nick. "People like Dr. Melissa DiMarco, Dr. Austin Busch, Dr. Gabriel Prajitura, and Dr. Jason Morris, among others, have been incredible to work with and have greatly enriched my time here.” 💬

Speaking of awards!
Nicholas Pisano was also selected as a recipient of the 2026 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. Nick is on course to graduate from SUNY Brockport in just two years with a Mathematics degree and a 4.0 GPA! While not a sociology major, Nick has been spending a lot of time on the first floor of Fannie Barrier Williams building. As Dr. Elliot Weininger explains:
“Nick is a brilliant stats tutor. Whenever a student needs help, Nick provides patient, thoughtful assistance. Whenever the Professor needs help, Nick provides patient, thoughtful assistance.”
Congratulations Nick and thanks for helping so many students this semester.
