May came and went in a whirlwind.

We loved watching the fresh produce and flowers at the @durhamfarmersmarket shift into warm weather crops and colors. We love our farmer market, and love to see new friends and our regular customers 🫶🏻

We upgraded our fans in the barn, and boy let me tell you, they are amazing. Escobar, the sheep, us…we are loving that extra airflow while working in the barn. Thanks to our favorite electrician…looking at you @bpuddin .

As much as we love seeing flowers at the Durham Farmers market (and we greatly advise you to admire them yourself) we are really even more excited to see the flowers right here on our farm. Olga’s green thumb was showing off this year with her peonies, roses and Dahlia’s.

We invited our minister from @holycomforterburlington to the farm to help us orchestrate a ceremony to bless our flock. She prepared a beautiful and heart warming call and response and prayer that we did all together, hands extended toward these animals that we love and care for. It was beautiful.

Daydreams turned into real life in May with John’s workshop coming to life. A special Lunch at @lexingtonbbq was the perfect way to celebrate the start of the project.

We all ate some yummy things with all those black berries.

John worked diligently to make sure our hay equipment was in working order. All the steps happened to put up our spring hay, then it rained!
So back to the pasture it went, getting mowed and spread to fertilize the grass for the fall cutting.

Herd health has taken much of our time and attention. With so many sheep, it takes efficient processes, meticulous note taking, a diligent eye, and loads of time to make sure each and every sheep is at its best. The new fans have come in as the winning tool during this barn work. It doesn’t hurt that we end up doing a fair amount of laughing while we do it.

We also celebrated our one year anniversary with Audra as our employee. 💛💛💛

We recently helped our electrician rework an entire new service to install an ATS and Generator and then reworked the siding that was surrounding the equipment.
