Black History in the Making - Bertie Ray (Part Owner - Switch Light and Design)

Although we celebrate Black men daily, this month, we acknowledge Black men who help make Cincinnati a wonderful place to live, work, play, and worship.

Switch is a modern lighting, furniture, and design emporium located in Cincinnati's vibrant
downtown Central Business District.

Bertie Ray III co-founded the showroom in 2008, which now serves clients from around the region and in cities from New York to San Francisco.

A businessman, entrepreneur, recitalist, and avid traveler, Bertie thrives on bringing big
ideas to life.

Known as the "Man Who Gets Things Done," his career has taken him up the East Coast, through many years in Manhattan, and eventually to Cincinnati, where he lives with his wife and daughter.

A graduate of St. Augustine’s College and New York University, Bertie remains active in numerous philanthropic and cultural arts initiatives, including serving on the board of the Cincinnati Opera. He was raised in Washington, D.C.

We are huge fans of @thescoutguide
and can’t thank you enough for featuring BR3.

"I was really shocked at the number of supporters that we had when we opened in 2008. People across the board, from all over Cincinnati, came to support a small business that opened in an emerging community during the recession. So, I feel like Switch really belongs to the community," says Bertie Ray III, co-owner of Switch (@switchondesign), a modern lighting store and design studio in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the link in bio @thescoutguide learn more about Ray's experience as a small business owner, the best advice he's received, what the future holds for Switch, and more. 📷: @rvp_photo for @tsgcincinnati
