Hallo Maats!

Dit was so ’n winderige dag.

Dit was regtig ’n baie besondere dorpie, propvol geskiedenis.

Totsiens, vriende!

And just like that… I’m on my way to Thailand! 🇿🇦✈️🇹🇭

What started as a dream has now become a reality.

As I leave South Africa to compete at @officialmisterglobal, I’m filled with so many emotions — excitement, gratitude, nerves, pride, and an overwhelming sense of how blessed I am to have been given this opportunity.

This journey has never been mine alone. Behind me stands a family who believes in me, friends who have encouraged me, mentors and coaches who have pushed me, sponsors and businesses who have invested in my journey, and so many South Africans who have supported me along the way.

Every training session, every fitting, every early morning, every challenge and every moment of doubt has led to this moment.

Now, it’s time to carry South Africa with me.

I’m going to Thailand with an open heart, a determined spirit and immense pride in where I come from. I will give this experience everything I have, embrace every moment, and make every person who has supported me proud.

South Africa, thank you for believing in me. This one is for you. ❤️🇿🇦

Thailand…I’m coming! 🇹🇭

Happy Heritage Day, South Africa 🇿🇦

Today was all about good food, good music, proudly South African favourites and some of my favourite people around the table.

I took the incredible Heritage Day box from @artichokemedia_ and turned it into a braai grazing board.... because honestly, is there anything more South African than gathering around food and a braai? 🇿🇦

A few of the proudly local goodies that made it onto our table:
@mybutchersblock for the gorgeous board
@nova.choc for my favourite no-sugar-added chocolates
@bechillco for that INSANELY good chilli chutney
@huntandgatherza for the biltong
@lepommierwines for the wine
@paulcluverwines for the ciders
@royalrhinocreams for the perfect little after-dinner treat
@braaibroekies for keeping the braai master stylish… and apparently doubling as a hand towel
and @jbl_southafrica for bringing the vibes with the JBL Clip 5

And of course @woolworths_sa understood the assignment with those beautiful sides

For me, Heritage Day is about celebrating the traditions, flavours, stories and people that make our beautiful country home

Now tell me… what did YOU do for Heritage Day?
