This is an amazing combo of brioche, cables, colorwork, textures, color, photography, personal style, creative habits, storytelling, and the joy of making. There’s something for everyone!!

I can’t wait to share more with you!! #knitstars #yourseasonofgenius

The setup for my workshop, in my dining room!! These are all of my brioche swatches that I’ve created over the past 11 years.

Closeup of my backdrop. I draped some shawls over the dresser!

Chatting with Shelley in my kitchen, where we had my lifestyle interview! Coffee was on hand all day. ☕️

Always and forever cracking myself up. 😂 There’s a random window in the kitchen leading to my home studio.

Also I’m super serious about brioche knitting. 😂 My dad @papamowry made this table for us, so it’s very special being able to use it as my workstation during filming.

Our living room and dining room!! So happy @brad.knull snapped this photo!! Shelley was knitting away on her cardigan while I rambled about brioche.

This is where I live!! So lucky to be near the ocean so we could get some shots like this. It was so fun taking Brad and Shelley around Corpus Christi.

It might look a little crazy don’t let that fool you:when I was filmed for my KNITSTARS Masterclass I shared my best photography tricks to help teach how to make the very best photos. You’ll love the hand trick for easily figuring out lighting at a location.

We just got back from Pittsburgh for our initial tech scout for our next Feature Film: ALMOST 30!

For this first scout we were joined by our DP, 1st AD and Art Department.

Our goal was to secure locations, identify any red flags, create backup plans for weather or schedule changes, and start building our shooting schedule around location availability.

It’s a giant puzzle. One location becoming unavailable can potentially change multiple days of the schedule — so this trip was about asking questions, solving problems and making plans (and backup plans for those plans).

The next time we’re on the ground in Pittsburgh will be our final tech scout with all of our department heads, getting even more specific about exactly how we’re going to make this movie.

There is SO much filmmaking that happens before anyone ever calls “Action.”

ALMOST 30 shoots this October in Pittsburgh. 🎥

Come behind the scenes with us as we make our next feature film.

Filming my masterclass with @knitstars ( Creating Beautiful Photos of Your Makes) this past week was truly a joy! Cinematographer @brad.knull made me forget how utterly awkward and strange it is for me to be in front of the camera — so much so that I have no idea what/why my hand is in the air here 😂.

Get to work with the best people!

Wrap group selfie for the modules filmed at Olympia Farm.

Thanks to @olympiafarm for helping me nail the location for our photoshoot !

We filmed in my kitchen (!?)which was a little weird and a lot fun. Spoiler: no cooking all photo talk.

A few moments from behind the scenes. 🎬 Beauty isn’t only found in the finished story; it’s also found in the people, places, and moments that bring it to life. 🤍

Swipe to see the square each Star is designing ➡️

For this year’s Knit Stars, each Star is teaching a technique on an easy-to-finish 8” square, that can be mixed and matched at the end to make a blanket, wall hanging, bag or whatever you might imagine.

They’ll also be including new, exclusive patterns using their technique - sweaters, scarves, hats and more. It’s the ultimate customizable journey that meets you wherever you are - beginner, advanced, super-busy or with more time to explore.

For those that have enrolled for this fall’s premiere season, check your welcome email for kit options. For those that haven’t yet enrolled, go to knitstars.com/masterclass or comment EARLYBIRD below - signups close at midnight PST TONIGHT. ⏰
