It’s finally happening.. I’m finally making my Beehive post.

It has been two weeks since we’ve closed and I am still missing these girls and this show. It was such an extremely special time for us all… And, equally importantly, for our audience members who lived through the 60’s and laughed hard, wept into their hands, sang along, and caressed our faces at the end of each show. We had the unique opportunity to portray our audience members (and their bestest friends) in their youth, instead of characters. (Or, “correctors” as our choreographer’s young son called us. 😆😭🩷) All but one or two of our audiences were r o w d y, and it only got more and more fun as the show went on, and as we as a cast continued bonding, backstage. One of our most consistent compliments from audience members was that you could tell we were close, because the chemistry between each of us was undeniable. We could only ever stand there grinning and nodding our heads, wholeheartedly agreeing.

To my cauldron sisters. The girls I met in the bar bathroom. The girls I danced and sang *nonstop* with for an actual (calculated) 65 hours. This was unexpectedly hard work!! This was the most I think any of us has ever had to take such meticulous care of our voices and bodies for a show. What a gift to do it with each of you, specifically. Thank you for grounding me when I needed it. Thank you for bringing the energy of A THOUSAND SUNS into that theatre, every day. I love yall (and miss yall) so very much. HIVEMIND, FOREVER!

We said goodbye to Beehive yesterday and I immediately cried when I got home.

40 days ago, I met the most inspiring, talented, kind, unique, funny, and uplifting women. Every day that followed felt like a nonstop drip of joy and love. Together, we shared music and stories from an era that doesn’t look very different from today and I am grateful we could create this little beacon of light amidst the chaos with @texartsassociation at the hands of our amazing director @the_megan_richards, incredible choreographer @erin_ava, & phenomenal MD @mprov64. this cast and crew were truly 10/10, no notes, chef’s kiss.

we celebrated the women of the 60s, but we also celebrated each other at every single turn and I’m going to miss the heck out of my beeHIVE 🥹
