Unbelievable night @theconeydetroit! 🌭 Scanned a QR code to donate and won Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard’s stage seats for the entire show! Being up there with so many talented people that care about the arts & Detroit, all while trying to act chill for 2 hours was just an insane experience. Thank you for the hospitality, shoutout to pals on local writing team/crew, and BIG CONGRATS to The Coney on raising $2,720,000! https://www.theconeydetroit.org

As a kid growing up in metro Detroit, Brad Galli was surrounded by sports. Whether he was watching Detroit teams win championships or playing backyard baseball with his siblings, he couldn’t get enough. But like most athletes, Galli quickly realized that if he wanted a future in sports, he’d have to find a role beyond playing them. As a student at Brother Rice, Galli realized he had a knack for being on camera and announcing basketball games. Together, those skills led him to pursue a broadcasting degree at Marquette University. He continued to cover basketball, but his big break in the world of professional sports broadcasting came from a chance encounter while caddying during a storm at Oakland Hills Country Club in 2008. “One of the people I helped get in a golf cart was Vic Faust, who was a sportscaster at Channel 7 at the time,” Galli says. “He gave me his business card. We kept talking, and months later, I got my first internship with Channel 7.” Galli spent two summers with the station as an intern and 15 years as an on-air sports reporter covering the teams he grew up rooting for. It was a dream come true. But by the Tigers’ opening day in 2025, Galli’s priorities had shifted, and he realized it was time for a change of scenery — one that involved seeing more of his family. Tap the link in our bio for the article. Writer: @wills.last.writes EIC: @katewalsheditor Photography: @chuknowak Mentioned: @bradgalli

Rod Wood just gave a hint of what the Lions new Alternate uniforms will look like 👀 Wood told @bradgalli the Lions new “Rivalries” uniform is “consistent with our color and look, but with a little modern twist.” What are you hoping the uniforms will look like? 🤔 #onepride

Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to meet two of my favorite people from @starwars, and I’m still speechless. 🤯 @praisethelourd was everything I could’ve hoped for and more. I was never lucky enough to meet her mom, Carrie Fisher, but those of you who know me best know how much she meant to me, and getting to tell Billie that her mom was one of my heroes while we bonded over my favorite quote of hers — “stay afraid, but do it anyway” — was totally surreal. ♥️ Not only has she kept the legacy of Leia alive, but she’s a force to be reckoned with in her own right, and as a huge fan of Billie’s work both in a galaxy far, far away and beyond, I was just as excited to talk with her about the book she’s publishing next year!  John Boyega is an absolute LEGEND and was one of the coolest people I have ever met. 👑 We talked about manifesting Finn’s return to Star Wars, including his very convincing case for a purple lightsaber, and the hug he gave me at the end of our conversation proved that Jedi hugs are ALMOST as healing as hugs from a Wookiee. 😉 Thank you to @motcitycomiccon for letting me be a 12-year-old again for the weekend!
