NOW IS THE DAY AND
NOW IS THE HOUR!

🇺🇸🎭 CONVENTION opens tomorrow! 🎭🇺🇸

What began as a bolt of lightning at @atlanticactingschool in 2017, then morphed into a fully-fledged production at @irondaleensemble in Brooklyn in 2019, is now something bigger: a movement.

CONVENTION is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It’s a howl for the power of community, a testament to the audacity of dreams, and a rallying cry to fight for something better.

Because life can be as big as you want it to be. And so can theater!

Tomorrow we take the stage. Here we goooooo

Friday October 16 @ 8p: OPENING NIGHT
Saturday October 17 @ 3p: Performance followed by a conversation with Dr. Akiko Mikamo
Sunday October 18 @ 3p: Post show party!

“Mr. Roosevelt, are you listening?”
The massive 50-actor political showdown about the 1944 DNC, the nomination of Roosevelt’s successor and the future of the Democratic Party is upon us.

TWO MORE PREVIEWS this weekend before we swing the convention-doors open for critics and wider audiences.

(*Fun fact: Roosevelt wasn’t at this convention on purpose: he knew if he didn’t go, he wouldn’t have to pick a running mate and would remain unscathed. In the process, he walked away from a major decision that has rippled forward into our politics, today. Indecision IS a decision.)

Sneak peak: the camera dollies in — He sits alone at his desk writing a letter.

It was no easy task to get lights behind this extraordinarily tight space. We had to shoot a silhouette and had no way to control house lights. The only solution was to overpower them with all the muscle we had available.

There was about a foot of space at most between the wall and the windows. @bradleyfarrell crushed it solo. Thanks brother!

A little BTS from the set of "New Beginnings", written, directed, and produced by our very own @teresapalooza. Thank you for gifting me the opportunity to (finally!) act alongside @hipcatg and work with this amazing team! ❤️🌈 #happypride #boyslove #shortfilm

Behind the scenes of pure magic at El Tepeyac! 🎥✨
From mid morning setups with the squad to the last golden-hour shots, this crew poured heart, sweat, and fueled up with more than a few burritos to bring EL CAMINO DE LOS FIGHTERS to life.

Big love to the dream team—our badass crew, the familia at @officialtepeyaccafe , the legends at @remezcla Remezcla, and their partners at @modelousa for trusting us with this series. Couldn’t have asked for better vibes, better food (those burritos are 🔥), or better people to share this journey with.

Massive shoutout to @aksalimaa for capturing these incredible moments and to Marcelo Batista for the killer retouching!

LA, this one’s for you. 🖤
