Look at your neighbor and say, “Community!” Eternal thanks to these musicians for helping me shape this music. This is a classic by the great Cheikh Tidiane Seck called “Sarala.”

What’s up Akron? I’m pretty pumped about this show. We are dealing into the West African side of things on this show. Bringing in my brother @weediebraimahofficial to kick things up a notch. We have a horn section, percussion, bass, and guitar. Should be a great night. See y’all there..

A huge thank you to the warm, welcoming crowd who filled the lawn at the Medina, Ohio Gazebo for Ormaco’s “Jazz Under the Stars” last night. Pulse played two sets of original music and even stretched into a pretty “free jazz” piece, and the audience was with us every step of the way.

Here we are performing a new composition by our pianist, Anthony Fuoco, featuring Dustin May on drums, Brad Wagner on tenor sax, and Pulse founder Aidan Plank on bass. #clevelandjazz #medinagazebo #newmusic #livemusic

Fun fact about me: some of my earliest musical influences from a very young age were Charles Ives, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong, and Norma Winstone.

Last night with the Third Law Collective, I had the incredible opportunity to wear those influences on my sleeve and share a large body of my work in poetry, visual art, and musical composition. It was magical. Its not easy for a large group of people in an ensemble to be, and stay, so singularly dedicated to the moment and to the work like this. To the band, thank you for trusting me with this evening, it was an honor and a privilege. I heard spaces in the music where each of you were able to open up into your honest self, and places where we all willfully submitted to the larger communal goal before us. Thank you for that. You are all so inspiring and you may not realize it but that is all we need to keep building the places and the contexts where we can show the world what we are really all about. I could go on....

To the audience, thank you for supporting this artistic endeavor. Your presence is crucial to complete the circle of understanding. This cannot be overstated.

I'll see you all at the next gig, Tuesday June 16th at the Bop Stop with Horizon Trio.
