Today our hearts are operating at half capacity. We have lost our footing with the loss of the lead and only mare at Oniya at Heart Brand Ranch. To her human parents, Paul and Sandy Overgaard, Ranch Team Members that have cared for her, all Oniyans, Farmhouse Guests, Renew Film Crew, and anyone else that has ever met “Maybe on Sunday” (her family name) or “Maya” (her healing name), I know you share in the stop, the pause, the interruption of feminine harmony, the Queen Power, and the gentle, firm knowingness that she gave us all. We are broken open with the joy of experiencing the magic of a horse that played like a fuzzy puppy as an inquisitive little mare in Plentywood, Montana with Sandy. Maya had her time of working a ranch and living the freedom to come and go at my Dad’s like she owned all Eastern Montana. Then she followed Cree and Kristi in their destiny to help people get back to themselves by coming to Montana. Maya’s contributions besides approving the move to Reno for ideation during Covid, then back to Roberts, was to meet every guest at the ranch wherever they were in their path and guide them through the answers they had come to find. She was a maternal bath of nurturing, but not in the coddling way, more in the impassioned essence of believing in you no matter how hard you were on yourself. She was a “Yes, and… now shift it. Don’t sit in it. With love, make the changes… now.” In her time, she saved marriages, guided retirements, promotions, and divorces, gave people back their courage, their self-love, and sometimes their will to live the life the way the wanted to live. She also healed so many mother/daughter relationships. If you were someone who worked with her or simply felt her love from the fence line, you know. She wasn’t just a healer to humans; she was the love of Cree’s life. She was the only one he showed up his entire life with his powerful, flashy armor, to protect, love, and support her in everything she wanted to create in her time here. He is now standing here with a sense of lost focus and questioning where to be and what to do without his soul’s mate. But he will repair, because he hears her saying..
