The best part of a hackathon isn't the code. It's the people. 💡

200+ engineers, students and industry pros spent 48 hours at Hunter Hub, UCalgary, building 20+ working AI agents for real problems: wildfire dispatch, water mains, 311 hazards, the grid and healthcare triage.

But this video is about the energy in the room. The smiles at hour 40. The pizza (thank you, Domino's 🍕). The mentors, judges and volunteers who kept everyone going.

That's what the 2026 IEEE Industry Hackathon was really about: a community that wants to build things that matter, right here in Calgary.

Thank you to Volaris Group, Databricks, ElevenLabs, Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, Eudaimonia, Tech Connect Alberta and IEEE Young Professionals for making it possible. 🎥 Captured by [videographer].

Great things start small. More coming soon.

If you were in the room, what's the moment you'll remember? 👇

That's the IEEE Industry Hackathon at @hunterhubyyc. No toy apps, just working AI agents for wildfire dispatch, water mains, 311 hazards, the grid and healthcare.

𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱... That’s exactly what we did last week at Eudaimonia as people discovered the endless possibilities with Claude.

It started as a conversation in a coffee shop and turned into an incredible afternoon with 30+ registrations, hands-on learning, and a room full of people curious about what’s possible with AI.

We went beyond “What is Claude?” We got hands-on with Claude Code, explored best practices for setting it up effectively, shared practical workflows, and helped everyone experience the shift toward an agentic coding paradigm. We also gave away free Claude Code credits! 🙌

A huge thank you to Rahul Nagulapally for leading the session and sharing his experience, and to everyone who showed up, asked questions, experimented, and built with us. Thanks to Gaurav Dongol and Ankit Mukherjee for curating the workshop and supporting the event!

What would you like to see in the next Claude session? Maybe Ralph Loops? 👀

Drop your ideas in the comments, we’d love to build the next session
around what the Calgary community actually wants to learn.

Session 8.

Subu cares a lot about time series data and nerds out on how bad data quality screws up everything. Watch this to listen to him yap about it or whatever.

Btw, if you also need out on tech stuff or are passionate about your dreams, you should join us. @eudaimoniayyc
