Engraving on a superb knife where I combined all four existing engraving techniques.

Within this small surface, the combination of background removal and fine line engraving for the shadowing blends depth and delicacy. The relief carved gold inlays bring color and contrast, texture and prestige, while also adding volume and enhancing the sense of depth created by the recessed backgrounds.

This engraving was executed on a beautiful knife by the excellent @jeanbaptisteleveque .

Many have asked me: what do you mean by an emerging knife maker? A knife maker who in recent years has significantly raised the quality of his work, achieving critical and public success.
Here are 4 knifemakers who are having great success, whose work is so recognizable... In the end, the young and talented Grayson Jennings won, happy to give him this Edward, who had narrowly missed out in the "Best young knifemaker" category.
Only 2 Edwards left to go, next Sunday: "Best collaboration".

I am particularly happy to award this prize: a recognition to knife collectors, co-protagonists of the knives community, so important for the "all knife movement".

What an incredible friendly battle that ended with a minimum distance between the greats Drew Rice and Cori K. Both did not vote for each other, just to tell you the extreme sportsmanship of the contenders...
See you next week for the Edward that will be awarded to the best fixed knife: a clash of the titans is expected!

Here we are, the first "Edward" is awarded, and after what a battle! 4 great knifemakers received many votes (80) and in the end Landesman came out on top. Congratulations to him and all those who participated.

PS: don't miss the Edward for the "Best Classic Folder Knife" next Sunday. Can you already imagine who the 4 nominees will be?

Today, however, a minimal celebration also for collectors, in Italy we say "cross and delight" of knifemakers (I think the is like "blessing and curse")... I must say that seeing them together, not to boast, but I put several of the best on Instagram, thanks for sharing your... and our passion. Ad maioram!

unique carving in my style made on a magnificent knife of @jeanbaptisteleveque . This is a long project for a very fine engraving which will have required 130 hours of meticulous carving work.

French knives, custom, mouse and more... 😊😁⚔️🔨🍻
Can you spot the Opinel in the right corner ? What shape do you think I'm gonna draw and make? 😁
Something I don't have and will be able to try at low budget. 😁😎
And also because I love to make stuff with my hands...
(couldn't tag it but the leather SAK pouch is hand made ^^ )

Last week at the same moment, we had a blast with @fitfor50s coming from San Diego, @jeanbaptisteleveque and @natehenneman a.k.a @beignetsandblades. For this very special occasion i spread my pretty knives on the table together with Nate and Jean-Baptiste. Our friend @branabllyr could unfortunately not make the trip for this special event but he was still with us through his Axis Symmetry on the table! That has lead to quite a knife table :) An unforgettable knife night that will always linger in my mind! And above all a great meeting with a great friend that I am blessed to have met thanks to the knife community🥂🎉
