One of the most underrated parts of being a photojournalist, creative, photographer is learning to work as a team, and eventually, learning to lead one.

Working at a conference like @globaltippingpoints2026 means more than just documenting what happens on the ground with months of planning ahead and shooting non-stop 4 days straight.

It’s about working alongside communications, editorial, and newsletter teams, curating visuals for the client, sponsors, other stakeholders, and selecting images that carry the right context and tell the story beyond the frame.

Behind every story and photo is a whole ecosystem of photographers, editors, communications teams, writers, and the people putting together newsletters to make sure the story reaches the world. We all see the same event differently, but somehow, we work towards the same goal, telling a story that matters.

Eventually, you learn to trust one another, anticipate what people need, communicate, trouble shooting and understand that your work is only one piece of a much bigger picture.

Leading a team also teaches you that it’s not just about getting the work done or taking nice pictures. It’s about understanding people’s strengths, making decisions under pressure, giving others room to contribute, and ensuring everyone is moving towards the same vision.

& somewhere between the deadlines, last-minute requests, and the chaos on the ground, you grow, not just in your craft, but in how you listen, collaborate, lead, and make space for other people’s strengths.

Because good work is rarely done alone. It’s built by people who believe in what they’re doing, trust one another, and show up for the purpose and for each other + have fun while you’re at it. Thank you to the team who worked hard alongside me on this and to @sunwaycph

the 4am start, the chaos of girls getting dressed up, my mother's hands on my dad's flowers, kisses among family who haven't been home in years, an equal amount of tears and laughter, vows we memorised but were too nervous to remember.

@heartformemories delivered the perfect montage of details from one of our new favourite days 💐💗 thank you for capturing so much so beautifully.

When we received the brief from @cosmoderm to shoot 3 moisturizers frozen in ice blocks, our first problem was surprisingly practical: how many ice molds can we actually fit into a regular-sized freezer? 😆

It took us 3 full days just to prep all the real and fake ice for this shoot. And on shoot day, teamwork was everything 🫠 Real ice melts ridiculously fast, while fake ice just doesn’t quite give you that same glass-like glow.

So after working with both… which do you prefer: real ice or fake ice? 🧊🤔

1 year older, 1 year (selectively) wiser.

What a year it's been:
- Studied abroad for 10 months
- Travelled (walked) and explored on my own
- Met so many people that became so close and dear to me
- Learnt how to cook, sort of
- Got my degree
- Flew a 13 hour flight back home and cried within 10 minutes after touchdown
- Went for my sister's wedding

So many precious moments I wouldn't trade for the world. Here's to another year, with more memories and adventures.
