Thought It’d Be Different is out now!

Two years after releasing the unplugged version as my first solo release, it feels pretty special to come back to this song, and to have all nine of these songs together in one place.

A big thank you to my co-producers, co-writers and every talented musician who helped bring this to life. Listen wherever you listen to music 💜

I never thought I’d be making music like this. For a hip hop/r&b guy, this is way out there. Heck, even for pop this is way out there. But I love every bit of it, and I hope you do too. Stevo and I even had someone else (@brandonbuttner) mix it, which is new for me, and it kicks ass. S/O everyone involved! What’s your oopsie Daisy moment? #oopsiedaisy

“Sweat on the dance floor and dirt shoveled down in the grave”. Life is beautiful and painful and it’s a gift to feel it as deeply as we can. This is the full music video for “Weddings & Funerals”, a song that came to me through loving and miles on the road and loss and celebration. This video is the result of an immense effort by Director Ryan Bergeron to get the right shots all over Los Angeles, including capturing some extremely rare torrential rain. We were almost killed by someone doing donuts in a Dodge Charger in the parking lot, but we persevered and got an incredible video that captures the spirit of searching and working and thinking and finding.

Collaborating with Ryan and all the musicians who worked on this track is something I feel so grateful for. There is so much talent in this world and tapping into it for the sake of making something cool is extremely righteous. Please enjoy and I hope it speaks to you.
