My second USAPL meet in the books ✅

Bit disappointed that I couldn’t hit some numbers I’d hit previously in the gym that we were hoping for but strength just wasn’t all there. But excited to see what off season has in store for me and for the new changes coming soon…

S/o to my amazing coach @lizribaudo she’s been there with me every step of the way and I couldn’t be anymore grateful to have the best of the best in my corner!! Thank you for flying from Florida to handle me in person.

And what made this experience even more special was my incredible support system from my siblings & friends and to my best friend (@mollydenney92 )streaming from 2,700 miles away. Thank you so much to everyone who showed up and making sure I feel loved and supported. My heart is full with love and gratitude.

Thank you to all of the spotters/loaders & volunteers formatting this meet run smoothly and fun!

I only made it this far by letting people in and taking their guidance and wisdom.

I understand that feeling of uncertainty you’re experiencing can be scary.

Having spent half my life under the influence, I didn’t even know if I would like myself clean and sober.

Over time, I realized that the uncomfortable feeling I always avoided with drug use was actually the sensation you get right before breaking new ground in your life and leveling up.

Just like strength training, life throws us resistance in our minds that we need to grind through, like a rep, to reach higher ground in our lives.

Celebrate adversity, let life throw you curves, don’t hesitate to ask a homie or even a stranger for help if you need it to get back on your feet.

I’m here for you. Just holla. 🤝

Visualization has always played a crucial role in my own success and that of my athletes under the barbell.

When doubts start to creep in as the weight increases, I’ve been known to give a simple yet powerful homework assignment.

The night before, I ask them to load their top set and stare at it until they truly believe they own it.

It may seem unconventional, but I’ve had countless conversations with the barbell over the years.

Staring at it and repeating the mantra “I’ve put in the work, and I am worth the weight.”

Visualizing myself performing the set/reps picture perfect every time, even visualizing the hype from my friends and the look on my wife’s face when I conquer the goal.

Those visuals make the hair stand on my neck and I can smell the concrete as if I hit the ground. That’s when I know I’ve accepted my worth.

Call it meat head meditation or something but give it shot next time you have any doubts in yourself.
