The reasons I never expected, the lessons I never knew I needed, but I have an Author who I know is writing my story!

Proverbs 51:10
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within.”

I heard this saying in church, and honestly it changed the way I looked at myself. For a while, I think I was so focused on looking like a “Good Christian” and having everything together. But God has shown me that who I am on the inside matters so much more than how people see me. A lot of times, trials bring out things in you that you didn’t even know were there. God has a way of bringing those things to light, not to shame you, but to grow you. Working on your character isn’t easy, and I’m definitely still learning. But I’d rather have Jesus change me from the inside out than spend my life trying to look perfect on the outside.

For me, I have a really hard time letting go of things, especially when I know God is taking something out of my life. Holding things with open hands is something I’m still learning. It’s trusting that God is sovereign and that He sees and knows things that I don’t. I still struggle with letting go, but I’m learning to trust the One who already knows how it all turns out.

God’s Character does not change, and that’s why his promises are so much different than ours. Our Confidence isn’t just in what he promises, but ultimately it’s in who He is! He will never leave us, nor forsake us!

James 1 talks about when you face trials of many kinds! There is always a purpose and a reason why you are in that trial. Leave the trial different then when you entered!

This summer has shown me that in the midst of doors closing, God will provide you with a new one. Now it may sound simple, but waiting for God to open a door is the challenging part! His Timing, His Plan, His will!

I’m learning that sometimes what I think I want isn’t always what God knows what I need! There is breakthrough!

We have plans in our heart, but God’s word says that it is the Lord’s plan that will prevail!
