SCF pulled off a gritty overtime win Friday night against Fenton in a game that was an absolute battle from start to finish.

The boys came out hot, putting up 4 goals in the first quarter and keeping the pressure on with 2 in the second and 2 more in the third. Fenton stayed within reach early, then made a big push in the fourth, scoring 3 unanswered goals to tie it up and force overtime.

But SCF wasn’t done.

In sudden death, Swartz Creek junior Jayden Pfeiffer stepped up and buried the game winner, sealing the victory and earning the Game Ball for his clutch performance.
It was a huge night for the SCF offense. Swartz Creek junior Brandon Johnson made a statement in his return, finishing with 5 goals and 3 assists and earning the Hard Hat Award. Pfeiffer added 4 goals and 2 assists, including the biggest one of the night.

The team effort continued with Flushing sophomore Paul Guith dishing out 3 assists and freshman Josh Schleiger adding another.

Defensively, Swartz Creek senior Mason McMichael battled all night, picking up 8 ground balls and forcing 2 turnovers. He also spent 3.5 minutes in the box on a series of tough calls, but never backed down and stayed a physical presence throughout.

And a huge shoutout to our goalie Erik Rode, who continues to improve every single game. Eric came up big for SCF in this battle, stopping 12 of 19 tough shots on goal. These weren’t easy saves either, he faced some difficult looks and held strong in net, finishing with an impressive 63% save percentage. His performance was a key factor in keeping SCF in the fight and giving the boys the chance to secure the win in overtime.

Final score doesn’t even tell the story. This one was a fight, and SCF found a way to finish. #SCFLacrosse #OTWin #BattleTested #LaxLife #EarnedNotGiven
