🇬🇧 “Dance or die.” This is not just a tattoo on the back of his neck, on the exact spot where terrorists threatened to behead him.

It is the solemn promise that Ahmad Joudeh (@ahmadjoudehofficial) made to himself and to the world.

Born in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus, Ahmad danced under the bombs of the Syrian war, defying ISIS threats and deep-rooted prejudices.

He chose art as his sole weapon of resistance, turning the rooftops of a destroyed city into his stage.

Today, Ahmad is an internationally renowned dancer, a global symbol of freedom, and a human rights activist.

🕊️✨ His story reminds us that no chains can imprison the soul of someone who has the courage to fly.

Under the eclipse, I dance as a prayer. 🌑☀️🕊️

A prayer for peace.
For every life caught in war, fear, and displacement.
For a world that remembers that no life is worth more than another.

We share one sky.
One Earth.
One home.

May we stop destroying what we were given to protect.
May we choose compassion over hatred, life over violence, and peace over power.

This dance is my prayer to the world:
May we protect our Earth, and may we protect one another. 🕊️🌍 #ahmadjoudeh #eclipse #video @bravehound #porto #skirt by @ronaldvanderkemp

In your eyes
The light, the heat
I am complete
I see the doorway
To a thousand churches
The resolution
Of all the fruitless searches
Oh, I see the light and the heat
Oh, I wanna be that complete
I wanna touch the light, the heat I see in your eyes…
