In a world where I'm always a consumer, it's been refreshing to sacrifice time to be a producer.
If there's one good thing about an injury, it's been the free time I had to jump into an exciting project like @theoverfillpodcast
5 episodes all available now on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
5 episodes, 4 guests (all very different from each other), but one simple message:
Despite how bleak things seem nowadays, you can find purpose and embark on an adventure worth getting uncomfortable for.
Huge thanks to Gisele, Jill, Keith, and Braxton for sitting down with me for a conversation worth having.

Episode 5: “The Kid Your Mom Warned You About” with Braxton Vincent

Braxton and Ike met in the fall of 2023 while serving as full-time volunteer missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Ike met hundreds of unique and outstanding individuals during his time in D.C., but Braxton always stood out because of his intense passion for life.

Growing up in a small town in southeastern Idaho, Braxton played football, acted in musical theater, hunted impala in Africa, skied all over the world, built a pond in his backyard, and even got arrested and thrown in jail.

Recently married in December of 2025, Braxton is now moving to Nashville, TN, where his wife will continue her music career.

Episode available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts Monday, 6/29.

POV: You’ve lived in Inkom for 19 years and it took your son inviting everyone on a hike to finally get you to the top of pebble Mountain. 🏔️

The fog was thick, the wind was freezing, and we couldn’t see a thing… 😂

Looks like I’ll have to go back and actually see the view.

Promised them a sunrise. Delivered 50mph winds, rain, snow, and fog so thick you couldn’t see 100 yards.

No views. No sunrise.

13 people. 11 tough miles. Zero complaints.

Normal people. Extraordinary morning. You’d fit right in, hope to see you next time.

THE VOICE THAT’S KEEPING YOU AVERAGE…

At 2:30 this morning, I was losing the battle in my own head.

I didn’t sleep well and hardly at all. My stomach was in knots. I felt run down, almost like I was getting sick.

Standing in the shower, I was coming up with every excuse imaginable to send the text:

“Sorry guys, I’m not gonna make it.”

I had already convinced myself that with the weather forecast, hardly anyone would show up anyway. I figured I’d at least drive there and maybe the two or three of us that would show up would agree to reschedule.

Then I pulled into the parking lot.

Twelve people were standing there ready to go.

Wind. Rain. Sleet. Snow. Fog.

At 3:45 AM, we stepped off and started putting one foot in front of the other like we said we would.

The conditions didn’t care how we felt.

The mountain didn’t care how we felt.

The only thing that mattered was whether we were going to honor the commitment we made to ourselves.

That’s the power of surrounding yourself with people who embrace Type 2 fun—the kind that sucks while you’re doing it but becomes one of your favorite memories afterward.

The truth is, the hardest part of today wasn’t the weather.

It was winning the argument with myself before I ever left the house.

And I’m damn glad I did.

How many times have you talked yourself out of something you knew you needed to do?

👇 What’s the hardest thing you’ve forced yourself to do lately?
