Nobody watching this video would know that two years ago, I could barely walk properly.

Today, Iโ€™m power cleaning 100kg.

And honestly, the weight on the bar is probably the least important part of this video.

For the last three years, my back has been an absolute fucking nightmare. Hospital visits, MRI scans, CT scans, and reports talking about cracked vertebrae, slipped discs and abnormalities in my bone marrow in my spine.

All while trying to maintain some kind of training and fitness.

There were times I walked with a constant limp. My right quad was completely numb. My left calf was numb. I was in pain constantly.

But when people asked what was wrong?

โ€œJust got a sore back.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Because apparently admitting youโ€™re fucked isnโ€™t really in the military job description.

The NHS offered me an operation which would have left me bedbound for days and out of action for weeks. I decided against it and chose to see what I could do myself through strength training, rehab, patience and a ridiculous amount of stubbornness.

Two years ago, I wasnโ€™t moving properly.

Today, Iโ€™m power cleaning 100kg.

To some people, thatโ€™s nothing.

To me, it represents getting my body back.

Getting stronger.

Learning to trust my body again.

And proving that sometimes progress isnโ€™t about being the strongest person in the room.

Sometimes itโ€™s simply about doing something you once thought you might never do again.

You never really know what someone is fighting in the background.

Everybody has battles.

Some peopleโ€™s are just easier to see than others.

Mine has been both physical and mental.

And for the first time in a long time, I genuinely feel like Iโ€™m coming out the other side.

Still a long way to go.

But fuck meโ€ฆ

100kg feels pretty good. ๐Ÿซก
