A glimpse into an Off-season training session with swim!

The long season takes a toll on the athletes mentally and physically! Hours spent doing the same thing day in and day out. That’s what it takes to be great of course, but that doesn’t mean we don’t tweak the recipe a little bit during the absence of competition.

I do this by allocating more time for variation during the off-season because it’s the first thing to go during the season.

This has been the best semester of training from this group. The variation has made training more exciting, enjoyable, and challenging for them. People forget swimmers are athletes too and every athlete loves a new challenge.

It’s good to get outside of your comfort zone as a coach and program something that will challenge your athletes. Help guide them through the new training experiences! It’ll be more enjoyable for both parties!
