🇧🇷 BRAZIL – OUR HONEST TRAVEL SUMMARY!

After spending 2 weeks in Brazil, here are a few things we'd love to share with anyone planning to visit:

❤️ Don't be scared of Brazil! It's not nearly as dangerous as its reputation might make you think. Stay aware of your surroundings, stick to well-known tourist areas and avoid wandering into unfamiliar neighbourhoods, especially at night. Don't show off your valuables or flash expensive jewellery, phones or cameras unnecessarily. In Rio, popular areas to stay and explore include Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Botafogo and Flamengo. Be cautious, but don't let fear stop you from enjoying this incredible country!

💃 The people are amazing! Brazilians love life, music, dancing and having fun. Join their energy, smile, relax and you'll connect with them in no time, even without speaking Portuguese!

🌎 Rio might just be the most beautiful city in the world! The combination of history, culture, mountains, beaches and lush tropical greenery is simply unbeatable. There is so much to experience that even a month wouldn't feel like enough.

🦟 Nature is everywhere! Tropical greenery surrounds you, even in the middle of Rio. Bring mosquito repellent and watch out for tropical insects, especially around parks, forests and after rain.

🥩 Brazilian meat is DELICIOUS! If you love meat, visiting a traditional churrascaria is a must! Try picanha, one of Brazil's most famous cuts of beef, along with other delicious grilled meats served fresh at your table. Come hungry because you'll want to try everything!

🚇 Getting around is super easy! Use Uber for convenient door-to-door rides and the metro to move around the city quickly and affordably. Both are great options for exploring Rio without the stress of driving!

💰 Brazil is more affordable than you might think! In many cases, it's still cheaper than Europe, especially when it comes to food, Uber rides and everyday expenses. You can enjoy amazing beaches, delicious meals and incredible experiences without spending a fortune!

One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! 😍💦

Iguazu Falls is a spectacular system of around 275 waterfalls 🤯 stretching almost 2.7 km (!) along the border of Brazil 🇧🇷 and Argentina 🇦🇷, surrounded by lush subtropical rainforest 💚

With an average of around 1.5 million litres of water rash over the falls every second 😮, it's easy to understand why this incredible natural wonder is so unforgettable!

Both Iguazú National Park in Argentina 🇦🇷 and Iguaçu National Park in Brazil 🇧🇷 are UNESCO World Heritage Sites because of their extraordinary natural beauty, spectacular waterfalls and rich biodiversity, including rare and endangered wildlife 🌿

➡️ When we visited last week, the water was brown due to heavy rainfall, which made the views a little less impressive than we had imagined.. Still, we consider ourselves lucky to have had one sunny day there!

🔴⚠️ Just one week later, nature showed its incredible power again. The water flow surged to over 12 million litres per second and several walkways and viewpoints had to close or restrict access for safety reasons 😪

It really puts things into perspective - sometimes we don't realise how lucky we are until conditions change!

We went in the direction of Rio De Janeiro but stopped near Paraty for a few days, doing some activities like climbing this ⛰️ with an amazing view 😍
Fun fact: the house on the 3rd slide is actually the house of the honeymoon in the 3rd Twilight Movie 🏠
