POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Lachlan Gudgeon-Back has committed to Baton Rouge Community College.

The 6'9" forward out of Canberra played for the ACT at the Under-20 National Championships earlier this year, and even with limited minutes on a stacked roster, he showed exactly why he's worth watching, comfortable playing inside or out on the perimeter, with the kind of finesse finish that's hard to teach.

That versatility carried straight into the May tour, where his frame and basketball IQ stood out on both ends. He can challenge and change shots defensively, get downhill and finish in transition, and create off the dribble for his teammates, the full toolkit of a modern big man.

Lachlan now joins Coach Sample's roster at Baton Rouge Community College. #BeGreat

Meet Baton Rouge Community College head coach Byron Starks 🐻🏀 He leads the Baton Rouge Community College men’s basketball team under what he calls the M.O.B. Mentality—short for “make others better.” And in Starks’ three years as head coach of the program, the BRCC Bears have seen the results. NEW ISSUE 🔥 🏀 The list of basketball legends who have graced the hardwood in Baton Rouge is long. But it’s still being written. In our January 2026 issue, we’re digging deeper into what drives some of this era’s brightest stars, from LSU women’s basketball guard Flau’jae Johnson to associate head coach Bob Starkey and finally to the Baton Rouge Community College Bears, who are riding high on the heels of back-to-back conference championships of their own. This edition also brings not one but two new sections to our local readers: Home, a department dedicated to delightfully decorated spaces; and Thrive, a section soon to be brimming with informative pieces about health for mind, body and spirit. And, like all of our first issues of the year, we’re showing off a new group of People to Watch in the Capital Region. Other pages highlight local dance instructors and cozy recipes for chilly weather. Flip through it at the link in our bio or find it on local newsstands now. #225batonrouge
