Stay back Emily, I'll protect you.

This was a wonderful impromptu photoshoot at @secretcon.co.uk back in June, I was cosplaying the jacket version of Grace, hence no bandages, but when an epic Emily cosplayer comes along I couldn't refuse getting awesome shots. All that time in gym has been paying off haha never thought I'd be able to lift a person (atleast not these days).

I've been on hiatus from social media for the summer because I needed a break, with doing back to back cons at the weekends and working full time theres only so much I can post as well as making costumes, and creating panels for cons (except posting to stories, I will forever be sharing my random updates to stories!) But now I'm back on it, I have a tonne of photos and content to share so going to try and post something everyday to catch up (don't hold me to that).

MCM BIRMINGHAM SATURDAY! 🤟🏻🕷️

I think that Spider-Gwen/Ghost spider might be my favourite cosplay I’ve ever done (aside from Elsa but she’s a permanent 1st place)

I am super proud of this wig, I had never made a side shave wig before and I’m such a perfectionist so this was a real trust the process, but I love how it turned out.

As many of you know, I took a break from cons this year for a few reasons, the main one being my health (and I have to admit I have definitely seen an improvement, so I’m really going to pick and choose which cons I enjoy the most to return to next year.) and the other big reason for my break was how burnt out I was, I love cosplaying but making Rumi for October mcm last year really took a toll, I LOVE cosplaying Rumi and I will absolutely wear that costume again soon, but every possible issue I could have ran into with making that cosplay, I did.

In the grand scheme of things it probably wasn’t as big of a deal as it felt like at the time, but it was just the cherry on top of a very stressful few years and I needed the break. I was worried initially that I had lost my love for cosplay entirely and that taking a break would just kill the last bit of love I had for it.
Luckily I was wrong and taking the break made me really miss conventions and the community and all of my friends.
I have a chronic illness so I am well versed in taking my physical health into consideration when I plan things, however I was unknowingly neglecting my mental and emotional health.

I do plan on being more present at cons next year but I will be keeping it at a scale I can handle!

So this is your friendly reminder (from your friendly neighbourhood spider-woman🕷️🤟🏻) to not burn yourself out and to look after yourself🩵

Thank you to my sister for deciding she wanted to go to her first con and pulling me back into the con scene again🩵 (please go and send her all of the love for her amazing cosplay!)
