A hectic yet slow moving November. Constantly on the move but barely able to move.

A back injury derailed my training and race plans for the winter. It’s been tough because I was feeling great and having a lot of fun between running and cycling. The lack of activity took a bigger toll on me than I expected.

Made the most of the time though with my favorite people at my favorite places.

Things started feeling better just in time to get out to the mountains for a little skiing with Margo and Juni. I was finally able to go for my first real run earlier this week as well which was a small win.

Highlights:
- Ski roadtrip with Margo and Juni. 9 hours in the car with a cat ended up being a success!
- Margo ran her first ultra at Back 40
- @breadfriends.co Friendsgiving
- Cat naps with Juni
- Lots of coffee

You are watching a master at work. Ever wonder how a Kansas City Bagel gets made?

I shot this some time ago for my friends @breadfriends.co and @boniceldenim. If you didn’t know, Bread Friends makes some pretty great bagels and Bonicel makes some pretty great garments, including this denim apron. Both right here in Kansas City.

Hope you enjoy!

#recap crave: What happened in May!

It was a magnificent month going to Rochester for my godsons graduation, celebrating a dramtic Eurovision, NYC for my mom's 60th birthday @innatnewhydepark and of supporting Asian businesses during AANHPI month locally and where I went. There were so many good eats, drinks and fun.

The highlight craves:
🐎 Partying for the Kentucky Derby with @jriegerco
🏠 Seeing the Kansas City skyline from the Bott House
🇰🇷 One last meal @chingu.kc before they closed their Westport location
🇮🇹 Taking my first pasta class @zerozeropastakc

Oh and I drank so much matcha @dear_society_matcha_bar @goathillcoffeekc @kettltea @mikasdirection. Next up Pride month! 💅
Follow for all the craves!

#pastry crave: Cardamom bun @breadfriends.co from @penrose_kc in Crossroads, KCMO!🇸🇪

Well, I'm pretty much a self-proclaimed cardamom bun afficionado since I first had one over twelve years ago and seen the rise of places that serve them. I've also made them myself ☺️ So happy that Bread Friends make them and here's the lowdown:

🍞 Sourdough bun which gives it a slight tangy flavor with a nice soft chew
🧈 Buttery crumb for some crunch and richness
▪️And of course cardamom that's fragrant, floral and sweet

The song is one of my faves from this year's Eurovision. Follow for all the craves!
