God whispered in my mother-in-law’s ear, saying, “It is time to say goodbye to the loved ones you will leave behind and time to say hello to the loved ones who went before you.”

On Friday, February 27, my mother-in-law, Mary Ann Andruzzi (also known as Mrs. A), was taken from us after a courageous battle with cancer. What began as one type of cancer quickly escalated into two, ultimately taking her life.

When we remember someone we have lost, we often struggle to find the right words to describe them, knowing that no words can truly capture who they were to us. However, it is only human to try. Mrs. A was many things to many people, but a few words that come to mind are brave, culinary, endearing, feisty, Italian, passionate, and generous. Most importantly, she was the best wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and family member/friend anyone could ask for.

Many will remember Mrs. A for her incredible cooking and extraordinary generosity, but what most will cherish is her deep love for family, especially her sons and grandchildren. For those who knew her, please share your stories and honor her by preparing Sunday dinners for your family. Cheer for your loved ones, whether at dance recitals, sports games, graduations, or simply by being your best selves.

Hold your loved ones close and spread kindness in the world whenever you can!

Thank you @lullabynyc for the best 1.5 years of my life. When I started here, the plant you see at the bottom of the first photo was tiny. Together, me and that little plant grew and changed as days and stories passed by. I can’t wait to see what the future brings, but I’m so grateful for the chapter that closed today
