Filip Tellander’s tender film for the Swedish church highlights the importance of having someone to listen during life’s most emotional moments. Created by Forsman & Bodenfors and directed by Filip Tellander through B-Reel Films, this touching spot from The Church of Sweden celebrates the power of human connection and the comfort of being heard through life’s highs and lows. Titled We Listen, the film weaves together beautifully shot, slice-of-life vignettes in which people unleash a spectrum of screams, from happiness and excitement to frustration, anger and sadness. Each scream flows seamlessly into the next, culminating with a young woman letting out a cry in a quiet church. As the camera pulls back, a member of the church is revealed sitting beside her, ready to listen and offer support. The Special Mention in the NEPATOGUS KINAS Impact Competition goes to AMAZOMANIA, directed by Nathan Grossman. Jury statement: "By radically reversing the traditional dynamics of observation and representation, it challenges established hierarchies and exposes the inequalities embedded in the act of documenting others. Its distinctive approach raises fundamental questions about who holds the power to construct narratives, and what it means to reclaim that power."
