A little color theory, a little lip magic ✨

Freshly blushed lips are always more vibrant than the final result! Over the next several days, the color will soften as the lips begin to peel. They may even appear surprisingly light before the pigment gradually becomes more visible again.

Over the following 6–8 weeks, the color continues to settle, typically healing around 40–60% softer than immediately after treatment.

PMU WORLD 2026 X HANAFY X BEAUTTEGA 🛳️❤️‍🔥

We’re officially home from a trip we’ll never forget!! I’m realizing I barely took any content because I was too busy having the best time and talking about pigments nonstop with everyone. If we chatted at the Hanafy booth, pleasee keep me updated when you try all the pigment combinations we talked about. I know you’re going to love them!!

We had SO much fun working the Hanafy booth alongside @ameliagil.pm and @browsbyjulie_kim ! And a huge thank you to @dannytutran for putting together such an iconic event and bringing hundreds of incredibly talented PMU artists together to learn, connect, and make memories. Every single day was filled with new friendships, so many laughs, conversations I wish could’ve lasted hours longer, and opportunities that I’m still so grateful for 🥹 @pmuworldlive

I think my favorite part of events like this will always be the people. Getting to finally hug friends, artists, and students I usually only see through a screen, reconnecting with familiar faces, and meeting so many new artists who share the same love for this industry. I already miss everyone and wish we had more time together!!

Sending the biggest hugs to everyone I didn’t get to say goodbye to. I’m leaving this trip with a very full heart and memories I’ll cherish forever. Love you guys!! 🤍

With the intensive training sessions behind us, we’re soaking in our final day at CocoCay before heading back to Northern Ontario.

The most refined lip blush isn’t about adding more makeup — it’s about understanding what the lips actually need.

For this client, that meant improving symmetry, restoring definition, and creating a more balanced tone while keeping the result incredibly soft and natural.

This is probably some of my FAVORITE lip blush work so far! She wanted a little more symmetry and definition, but still wanted her lips to look completely like her own. We kept the color soft and minimal and focused on refining the shape rather than changing it.
I want this exact color on me 🥲🪄✨

Okay so there is a little more happening here than just adding color.
🔴🔵🟡

If you look closely at her before photo, you can see tiny pale spots throughout the lips. These are called Fordyce spots — completely normal and harmless, but they can sometimes make the natural lip color appear a little uneven.

Lip blush allows us to create a more uniform wash of color, helping to soften the appearance of those lighter areas while also addressing unwanted undertones.

Once we numbed her lips, her natural cool/blue undertone became much more visible, so this appointment was also about neutralization. Her desired healed shade is actually warmer than what you see immediately after — think a beautifully muted, deep pumpkin/terracotta rather than a berry tone.

This is why it’s so important that your lip blush artist has a strong understanding of color theory. We aren’t simply choosing a pretty pigment and putting it into the lips - We have to take into account the client’s natural lip tone, cool or warm undertones, how those undertones will interact with the pigment, and how that color is expected to shift once healed.

Fresh lip blush can be deceiving. Numbing, swelling, the natural undertone of the lips and freshly implanted pigment can all affect how the color photographs immediately after treatment. In fact, just a few hours later, her color had already started shifting noticeably warmer!

And this is only the beginning — as the lips heal, the color will soften significantly and reveal a much more natural wash of the shade underneath.
