It’s never about the sends, it’s about the unforgettable life lessons at the crag. Ft. old man Benn spitting wisdom for “the kids”.

⛓️ Iron Curtain V11 ⛓️

Had to grow a pair to send during the Joshua Tree comp - uncut vid was nearly 3 full minutes of pump, confusion, fear, & numbness. Lucky to have had about 15 pads and 2 spotters!

Pan American Championships🇨🇴
.
.
My first start for the U.S men’s National Team🇺🇸
Super proud to have the opportunity to represent my country in Colombia at Pan Ams.
.
During this event I placed too much pressure on myself to perform. I have spent the last few months training boulders without really training for lead so naturally I considered this my primary discipline. I placed so many expectations on myself to perform in boulders and felt overwhelmed by the pressure of feeling like I had to achieve a certain result in order to feel satisfied with myself. With this pressure came a mix of poor performance and a disappointing result to say the least.
As for lead I felt almost no pressure because I knew I wasn’t in lead climbing shape having only 3 weeks notice to train before the comp. I ended up making semifinals and having a good performance before jumping and completely missing my target hold. Other than my slip I felt satisfied with how I climbed.

Overall this event was a great learning opportunity for me. I gained lots of takeaways about my pre comp mental state and dealing with the pressure that comes with competing on a high level. I’m super excited to get back training for the upcoming season.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped get me here it genuinely means so much too me.

Thank you to my coaches for helping me prep for this event.
