We have had the org❣️smic pleasure to be guided & led through a Vogue Playshop by no other than @bjthedragqueen

So it should come as no surprise that Harlem was the birthplace of “vogue”, a highly stylized form of dance created by black and Latino LGBTQ communities. Between the 1960’s and 80’s New York drag competitions known as “balls” transformed from elaborate pageantry to “vogue” battles.

It has been an incredible experience of allowing oneself to fully and radically be witnessed and celebrated for ones raw authentic & free expression solely for ones own enjoyment and fulfilment.

So many memories have come up when we pushed ourselves to impress someone or went into performance mode to prove that we are sexy and powerful.

Here it is not about proving something, it is not about impressing someone or getting validation from outside of ourselves … it is about owning, claiming and celebrating our aliveness, uniqueness and making a stand for who and what we are and how we show up in this world.

Not shying back
Not hiding
Not denying ourselves

Saying YES to the fullness of our infinite expressions and rejoicing in each others glory.

As you shine I shine and when I shine you shine ✨

Last week I joined a beautiful Retreat, wild women awakening, at the @theshantispace in Portugal
I joined as a participant.. not as a chef this time. Let’s call it self care.
What an amazing week facilitated by @jessicaweaver_____ . She spreads so much love and softness which radiates in all the work we did together . It was such a gentle approach, yet with incredibly beautiful outcomes..
As we women share so many of the same feelings, emotions, struggles, fears, anxieties, etc..we were all heard, seen, respected and loved by each other.
We feel empowered, uplifted, strong and so much more.
I wish for every woman to find ‘sisterhood’ wherever they are in this world, because we deserve this and we need this. The world needs us, empowered women to speak their truth and voice their needs.
