Tuesday lifts for Travel Squad In-Season.

If you want to improve you have to have intensity.

If you want to maintain what you built in the off-season you have to have intensity.

The hard truth is that without it you get no where and every athlete and coach must face that fact.

The real question is where do you place it within the week.

6 years later - Leaving part of my heart in Jefferson City, TN

Thank you, Carson-Newman

I came here to try to make an impact on athletes. Little did I know the impact they would make on me

The people make the place. Loved every minute of it.

Forever an Eagle and Talons up!! 🦅
(Originally last sentence I wrote but I would like to start with that)

My 4 year journey at Carson-Newman University has come to an end! Its crazy to me how 4 years can fly by so fast and how many friends and memories you can make!

As my favorite and only sister @tonkaa.23 would say “You graduating made me believe in miracles again…” So I am really happy to say that I successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

More than grateful for all the coaches and professors as well as for their patience and guidance to help me achieve my goals in both pool and classroom. I appreciate every single on of you for challenging me on different ways to make me not just a better student, athlete, but as a person as well.

I would also like to thank all my teammates and everyone else who I got chance to be around past 4 years for making this place feel like home. I hope I made it feel like home for you all as well and that I did not annoy you too much.

Much love for my CN family!🧡💙

Everyone knows big boys have to be strong and powerful to play in the trenches, but they have to also be athletic! Being athletic requires doing athletic things.

How many times have to heard:

“The o-lineman and d-lineman have to bend. We need to do more hip mobility.”

They can do all the mobility drills in the world, but if they’re not exposed to load or velocity in these positions they’ll never truly own it. Leaving them right where they started.

What we utilize to create these athletic adaptations

Crawls: Used for proprioception, unlocking the spine and hips, early intro to contact prep, and loading the shoulders through various actions.

Deep tier plyos: Used for the yielding aspect loading the knee rather than just bending at the hips. (What most bigs do)

Multidirectional starts and COD: Used for adding context to sprints, creating better angles, and adding velocity into these positions.

Prowler push to sprint: Used for engaging and disengaging with an object, and competition.
