Shin Godzilla came out ten years ago, today. That’s what we called the kidney transplant.

Ten years ago, I learned what a kidney does, and I gave my spare to @octaviuswashere. We filmed the process. We went to NYCC. We saw ourselves in the pages of Power Man & Iron Fist. I was serenaded by my kidney (she left me for another man). Timaree and Ripley and my family were always by my side. @indyhall allowed me to take the time off and supported my recovery. My life fundamentally changed.

Gotta be one of the coolest things I’ve been part of. Life is incredible, man. There are too many people I’m grateful for.

If you or someone you know is curious about kidney transplants - becoming a donor or enduring renal failure - drop me a line. I can’t give another kidney, but I can tell you everything I know and cheer you on.

And just like that the Crossroads Comedy’s part of IndyFringe is over. Electoral Dysfunction made its Indianapolis debut on Friday August 14th with a quick three show run that featured hilarious standup sets, engaging conversations, awesome improv sets, and passionate cheering, booing, and laughing from sold out crowds. Thank you to Tom Brennan, Robert George, every panelist and cast member, and everyone at @theindydistrict and @iftheatre_indy.

Part of the artistic mission of Crossroads Comedy Theater is, to itself, be a crossroads of arts and ideas. Electoral Dysfunction featured stand-up, discussion, and improv – but it also featured multiple opinions meeting on stage. I think a show like this is really important right now. With algorithms giving each opinion its own feed and channel that are fine tuned to support reinforce that opinion – our beliefs and even our facts are not challenged and our brains are not engaged and growing. All this to say, you’ll see this show again. Sign up for our newsletter to the right or in the footer to keep up to date.

One of the staples of Electoral Dysfunction is an opening set from a great comedian and we got that covered! Tennah McDonald will be at Friday 8/14, Sherra Lasley Saturday 8/15, and Dwight Simmons on Sunday 8/16. They get to do a set and then join the panel discussion with Tom, Robert and other invited guests each day.

Crossroads is so excited to have a hand in bringing Electoral Dysfunction to Indy! Talking about the show of course - the issue is something that’s been here for a long time am I right? The creator of the show, Tom Brennan, and steady Pun-dit, Robert George will be making their way from NYC! They will be joined by a bunch of guest panelists, comedians, and improvisers for three shows that will be super interactive, informative, super fun, and maybe even a little cathartic.

(Local) Emmy nominated producer, writer and comedian Tom Brennan has created content for Marvel Comics, Disney and the New York City Mayor’s Office and has shared the stage and screen with luminaries like Tracy Morgan, Jim Gaffigan, Kenan Thompson and Kid in the Hall Kevin McDonald. Tom lives in the Bronx with wife Amanda and their three year old flatscreen TV.

Robert George is a veteran journalist who has worked for Bloomberg Opinion, the New York Post and the New York Daily News. As a TV pundit, he has con tribute to CNN, MS Now, Fox News and more. He moonlights as a stand up comic and improviser in New York City.

For the 2026 #IndyFringe Festival we are welcoming one of my favorite east coast shows - Electoral Dysfunction! A panel of experts and comedians discuss the broken news and then some of Indy’s funniest use news and discussion to find the funny through improvised scenes.

What do you get when you blend Meet the Press, comedians, a Jerry Springer audience, and group therapy? You get Electoral Dysfunction! Host Tom Brennan of Marvel Entertainment and token Republican Robert George of Bloomberg Opinion are traveling from NYC to join the 2026 IndyFringe Festival!

Tom and Robert will lead a lively discussion of current events with special guests from across Indy. They debate the breaking (see: broken) news of the day while the audience is invited to cheer, boo, and laugh along.

The show ends with an improv set featuring some of Indy’s funniest performers, who turn the political chaos into comedy before your eyes. The news is a dumpster fire. Come join the roast 🔥
