An evening worthy of a Marine Corps legend.

The 2026 Task Force Garrison Marine Corps Ball, presented by Basilone Beer, comes to Charlie Palmer’s Steakhouse at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino in Reno, Nevada.

November 10, 2026 | 6:00 PM

We will honor Johnny Basilone and his family, with members of his family joining us for this special evening alongside guest speakers from the United States Marine Corps.

Expect fine dining, formal attire, raised glasses, and Marine Corps camaraderie—all in tribute to a man whose legacy lives in every generation of Marines.

An enormous amount of work and heart has gone into bringing Basilone Beer and this celebration to life. Having Johnny’s family with us gives that effort a deeply personal meaning. This is our opportunity to honor the legend, welcome his family, and carry his example forward through continued service.

All proceeds support Task Force Garrison’s efforts to help our veteran members and pursue answers for Americans left behind in Vietnam and Southeast Asia through our Bright Light Continuum mission.

Limited seating. Miniature medals authorized. Reserve your seats through the ticket link in bio and/or visit our events page at Taskforcegarrison.org

For Johnny. For our Marines. For those still waiting to come home.

We heard You all wanted to see the belt kit.

We are planning to release this in the coming weeks along with chest rigs, and a battle jacket.

We are working diligently to make sure there is nothing unnecessary while making sure there is nothing missing. All while improving production capability translating to lower cost and a better product for you.

There is an industrial Cold War as we speak. We must prepare for it to become kinetic.

The Mobile Defense

With the trench warfare discussion back in center stage with the Ukraine/Russia war, we must remember that not all defensive strategy should be willing to trade lives to hold strict terrain positions. This is especially important for smaller fighting forces or forces which lack in capabilities compared to their adversary.

A mobile defense focuses on a dynamic and flexible approach to defending an area. Breaking the majority of combat units in to small, mobile elements which may quickly strike and ambush enemy forces or their trailing logistics. The Mobile defense does not get caught up in long dedicated gun fights. Instead, they use surprise, speed and violence of action to strike larger enemy units, inflicting as much damage as possible before breaking contact and moving to their next positions.

The goal is to not only exhaust enemy forces from consistent reaction to contacts, chasing and formation corrections, but to also slow down their desired operational pace to push their offensive strategy. This can be exaggerated even more by not only hitting the lead effort units, but by also striking their reserves and logistical support which commonly follow closely behind.

In addition, a mobile defense helps protect you from a coordinated mortar and artillery fire which may otherwise heavily damage your static defensive positions and inflict heavy shrapnel/TBI injuries to defenders.

Some static units may be necessary as a part of this effort, but their positions should be carefully selected to maximize their overall effect of the defensive effort, or serve as a main point in a planned counter attack effort.

The past week a few of the Republic Staff were able to participate and train with @1shepherdleadershipinstitute at the inaugural semester of Delta Co lead by @brent0331

We had a wonderful time testing assessing feedback and in some cases cooking steaks. After the week of training we are pleased to announce we will be continuing to train, support and participate with 1 Shepherd whenever we can.
The short ruck stripped killed it, the csd showed up in ways none of us planned for, and our satchels held many mags, chem lights, and canteens.

We any to hear from you, if you participated or got the chance to use any of our equipment drop some meaningful feedback or your experience in the comments. We want to serve you and that is a two way street. We work for you, we build for you, your problems are our problems. And that’s how it should be.

Last weekend we had the opportunity to work as the opposing force for Delta Company @1shepherdleadershipinstitute first semester here in Texas.

3 days of force on force small unit tactics with miles gear provided by @s_s_training_solutions and working out of a patrol base in the “jungle” and heat at @brent0331 new AO. The training was phenomenal and we appreciate the opportunity to come out and get some work in! Looking forward to doing it again soon!
