Yankees in 5. In God we trust
• The Hole (Games 1-2): Cleveland entered fresh off a 22-game win streak. They took a 2–0 series lead after a dramatic 9–8 walk-off win in 13 innings in Game 2 where the Yankees blew an 8–3 lead.
• The Hold (Game 3): Back in the Bronx, Masahiro Tanaka pitched 7 shutout innings, and Greg Bird hit a clutch 7th-inning home run off Andrew Miller for a 1–0 win. Aaron Judge also made a run-saving defensive play.
• The Push (Game 4): Luis Severino rebounded from his Wild Card/earlier struggles, and the offense broke through to force a decisive Game 5.
• The Climax (Game 5): Didi Gregorius hit two solo home runs in the 1st and 3rd innings off Cy Young winner Corey Kluber, CC Sabathia pitched effectively into the 5th, and Brett Gardner added a 9th-inning insurance single to seal the 5–2 win.
• Historical Context: They became one of the rare teams in MLB history to overcome a 0–2 deficit in a best-of-five Division Series. #yankees #Jesus loves you always

From Braidwood to the Bronx.
A look back at @brentheadrick ‘s journey from Reed-Custer and Rhino Baseball to Illinois State, the big leagues, and now postseason baseball in pinstripes.
Wishing Brent the best of luck tonight as the Yankees begin their Wild Card series. Proud to be a small part of the journey.

Brent Headrick is Tread's MLB Pitcher of the Year! 🏆

Two years ago, Brent Headrick had a 5.97 ERA across fewer than 30 big league innings with Minnesota. In September 2024, he visited Tread for the Mocap Freebie, and he signed up for training the following month.

In 2026, he became one of the most relied-upon lefties in baseball, with 81 appearances, 78.1 innings, a 2.18 ERA, and 2.1 fWAR out of the Yankees bullpen. He threw scoreless appearances in 65 of those 81 outings. 🔥

Working with Tread, Brent cleaned up his arm action and trained with higher-intensity movement. Turner Givens also added a subtle pelvic tuck after his weight shift into peak leg lift, helping him hinge and stay directional down the slope. Those changes pushed his fastball from 91.8 mph in 2023 to 94.1 this season.

He also rebuilt his pitch mix, cutting his 4-seam usage from 64% to 49% and leaning on his offspeed. His slider held hitters to a .179 average with a 47.6% whiff rate, and his splitter, a pitch he barely threw in 2023, put away hitters at a 48.6% strikeout rate. Hitters stopped squaring him up, as his barrel rate fell from 15.1% to 4.5% and his FIP dropped from 6.10 to 2.46. 📈

After throwing 23 big league innings in all of 2025, Brent more than tripled that workload and locked down a high-leverage role in the Yankee pen. He did it with a higher BABIP than last year, and he still ranked among the best run-preventers in the game.

Electric season, Brent. Good luck in the playoffs. 👏
