28 Breakfasts. 28 Lunches. 56 Dinners Plus a Beauty Team!

Dozens of volunteers from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a number of other organizations came together on Monday for a 13-hour day of meal preparation and service for families at the Brisben Center.

It was a beautiful day partnering with some truly phenomenal beauty specialists in our community. Watching these young girls light up was everything. Hearing them say “I feel pretty” touched my heart… but hearing their sisters say, “Girl, you were always pretty — you just feel prettier now” took it to another level.

And when one of them said “This was the best day of my life” — whew… that’s when you know you’re walking in purpose.

Beauty is only skin deep, but sometimes women and little girls just need a moment of self-love to remind themselves of who they already are — HER and truly I needed it also. 💕

A huge thank you to Mrs. Charita Mariner for welcoming us into her program. You are truly a blessing to the community, and I’m beyond grateful you trusted us to host this Day of Beauty.

Shout-out to these amazing professionals who showed up, showed out, and poured love into every girl they touched:
💄 BreAnna Curry
💄 Emani Fischer
💄 Keri Lee
💄 Gabby M Campbell

These beauty professionals deserve their own round of applause 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
They moved with excellence, got the girls in and out, and when needed — your girl jumped right in (yes, I was doing nails today 😄). That’s leadership.
I loved every single minute of this experience.

✨ We’re back at it on February 21, 2026! ✨

If you’re a beauty professional who would love to donate your time and be part of something impactful, please email:

I appreciate you all x10. Always. 💖💖💖

A month and half ago I was hospitalized due to preeclampsia with severe features…… I was devastated because I had so many plans, like our baby moon, our baby shower, maternity pictures and more! Riverside went ABOVE AND BEYOND to accommodate all of my needs and shout out to the best photographer as she made everything happen with her great assistant Tina 🩷 She’s the GOAT! Shout out to all of the ladies who made me super pretty this day!! I can’t get over how stunning these turned out and I can’t wait to see everything!

God is more than able 🙏🏽 He gives us challenges that only he knows we can handle, if we sit back and think that we can do it on our own we are sadly mistaken! My beautiful client and husband started their journey one way and things quickly shifted another. When @mirandaknewell said, I’m on bed rest and I don’t think we can do maternity pictures now. I knew we could still pull off all of her dreams of having the bomb session, just in the hospital!! Yes, @riversidehealth went above and beyond to make this happen!! The entire staff was so accommodating. They were there for their patient ensuring she was safe the entire time so she could have the maternity session that she’s always wanted! Thank you everyone on the mother baby unit, my amazing assistant @teena838 , makeup artist @breontheebeat , hair @kissedbycapri ! Most importantly my beautiful parents🥹 Thank you for trusting me with your vision and being able to pull off such a huge production in the hospital room!! #newborn #newbornphotography #newborns #virginiaphotographer #photographer #pregnancy #cutekids #babies #cutebabies #maternityshoot #maternity #baby #maternityphotographer #foryou #maternityshoot #757photographer #virginiaphotographer #hamptonroadsphotographer #newportnewnewbornphotographer #mommytobe #atlantaphotographer #atlantaphotoshoot#ladawnhodgesphotography📸#essence#fteustis #fteustisphotographer#foryoupage
