Today we had an outstanding site visit at the College Football Hall of Fame as we continue planning for the inaugural TCSG Pathways to Graduation Gala on September 17, 2026!

Walking through the venue and finalizing details made it even more exciting to see our vision coming to life. This will be a truly special evening celebrating the life-changing impact of technical education across Georgia and raising critical support for students through scholarships, workforce initiatives, and the Last Mile Fund, which helps students overcome barriers such as transportation, tools, childcare, and housing.

We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm and support we’ve already received, and we can’t wait to welcome guests to what promises to be an unforgettable night.

There is still time to get involved! Sponsorship opportunities and auction item donations are available, but opportunities are filling quickly. You won’t want to miss the chance to be part of this inaugural event and help create pathways to success for students across Georgia.

If your company or organization is interested in becoming a sponsor or donating an auction item, please send me a message. We’d love to have you on the team as we work together to help Georgia students get across the goal line!

UGA’s Applied Politics, GLIP and other SPIA interns had the wonderful opportunity to meet with House Speaker Jon Burns at the Capitol Wednesday afternoon! After lunch and meeting with their coordinators, Dr. Audrey Haynes and Dr. Charles Bullock, students heard from Speaker Burns on current state house actions and what the rest of the session might look like as well as more on public service and how he came to be a part of leading the state from his roots rural farmer, small business owner, and community builder to one of the most influential individuals in the state. He also shared thoughts on the value he and his wife, an educator, place on the importance of literacy. We were so grateful for his time, his words, and his encouragement shared with students. We also had the chance to see Rep. Gaines, UGA SPIA alum, and many alums who now have successful careers in public affairs! We have so many that we ran out of time to visit all the offices. But we will be back! So proud of alums, students, and the leadership that is provided by our elected representatives in Georgia! @uga_spia @uga_pols @ugagr @jonburnsga
