Friday Feline Trust Test 🐾😂

So apparently there’s a new “cat chucking challenge” going around…

I saw the grandpa video and thought, could Saint Matthew trust me like that?

Turns out… he’s got serious airtime 😎🛫

How much does your cat trust you?

(Disclaimer: no cats were harmed—just elevated in spirit 😼)

“FAIL HARDER.”
Most people think growth is linear.
But I’ve learned—especially through addiction recovery and movement—that progress looks more like falling again and again… and still coming back.

Every failure taught me to face something deeper.
Because the real wall isn’t outside — it’s internal.
And every inch forward is sacred.

💥 You don’t face the same challenge every time.
You face yourself.
And that’s where the magic happens.

🧠 Truth bomb:
“The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth they’re willing to face without running away.”

So:
One more fail.
One more inch.
One step closer.
Welcome it.

Presented by Brain Dead and Ashima Shiraishi, sponsored by Arc’teryx, hosted by Long Beach Rising, benefiting All Rise.

This festival series is our most powerful tool for raising funds and connecting with the communities we aim to uplift. Our grant program exists thanks to this event, our incredibly supportive sponsors, the backing of our friends, and the dedicated team working behind the scenes to bring it all to life.

All proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales, as well as event-day donations, go directly to All Rise. We then use those funds to empower groups and individuals in their efforts to make rock climbing and the outdoors more accessible to everyone.

Come join us in creating the future of climbing and the outdoors that we all want to see. By bettering ourselves, we can better our community — to all rise together.

Lessons from climbing 🧗‍♂️.

I’ve never been just a fan of getting good at exercising.

Movement practices that get you to challenge your physical and mental limits are highly important to feed that primal human instinct.

For this reason I’ve picked up various movement activities like slacklining, Acroyoga, and my latest— bouldering.

It’s been over a year at @long_beach_rising and I’ve barely scratched the surface of the indoor bouldering scene.

Deep respect for climbing athletes. These humans have a whole different level of strength.

“You’re only as strong as your weakest link” and for me, my grip is that point.

If I can’t hang on, I’m not going anywhere, regardless of how “strong” I maybe in other areas.

My quest continues to be an overall mover.

Here’s a V3 route that keeps me humble. I look forward to to try and solve this puzzle 🧩.

Aside from training/exercising are there any movement practices that bring about this element of challenging your physical and mental capabilities?

Let me know below. 👇🏾

Exercise is optional, movement is essential.

The infamous Turkish Getup- a full body movement that is equally as challenging on the body as it is on the brain.

The movement was coined “Turkish Getup” because of it origins from wrestlers of the Ottoman Empire where the move originated as a method of physical preparation.

While popular exercise tools like kettlebells and weights have been in existence for millennia, acrobatics and lifting humans have roots since the beginning of mankind.

Yup, thats right. Lifting people has always been a thing. And why wouldn’t it be.

“How many different ways can you lift a person?”

Rhetorical question for you to entertain.

Here’s a fun little edit of Turkish getup with a kettlebell and a human.

Before there was light, there was movement— The Genesis Pattern.

I LOVE MOVEMENT.

It’s been a year over at LBR and I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the sport of bouldering.

Its such a humbling practice that will challenge any strength athlete.

Simply because ⬇️

If you can’t hang on you’re NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

While im still building my bouldering IQ, and working on my finger strength; the principles remain the same— BASE, BREATH, CONNECTION.

Displaying my take on the Turkish GETUP aka “Turkish Delight” with a 32kg Kettlebell alongside my first V5 flash.

Reminding you that STRENGTH gives you CONFIDENCE and MOBILITY gives you OPTIONS.

I highly recommend you guys visiting your local climbing gym and if you’re in Long Beach stop by @long_beach_rising for wicked fun.

Versatile Human.

Get 🆙 and give this spinal relief a try.

1) shrug the shoulders

2) bring elbows high

3) left elbow down and cross (see vid) repeat for the other side

(Disclaimer: common sense goes a long way / consult your physician lol 😂)

And if you tried let me know if you heard the pop, I know I did.

⚠️ fun fact about me, the first time I weighed 145lbs I was a methamphetamine addict.

My last year at the University of Southern California. I barely graduated but I came out with my life.

I could give two shits about that degree.

Rack Squat 2x28kg at 145lbs.

To whom it may concern, don’t give up.
