Rio will forever have a piece of my heart.
There aren’t enough words to encapsulate the gratitude I have for this trip and the team I served alongside. We all came in carrying unseen burdens, yet walked side by side as the hands and feet of Jesus. People who started as strangers quickly became mat carriers for one another, true brothers and sisters in Christ. Burdens were shared, testimonies were revealed, and hearts were opened in ways only God could orchestrate. As we worshiped, the presence of God was undeniable. Praising the same God, the same Savior who unites us beyond words, beyond color, beyond every difference. The way the children embraced us with such pure, joyful love reflected the heart of Jesus in a way I will never forget. If you are willing and able, I encourage everyone to go on mission. Put your “yes” on the table and see how God uses your light to shine unto others. That being said, I think sometimes our biggest mission field can be in our everyday lives. Your work, your children, your closest friends and family, everyday moments, ordinary places, and unexpected conversations. It is easy to recognize a broken soul walking through “crackland” in Rio, it is harder to spot in the midst of your busy work day, running errands, and just passing by. This experience has truly humbled me and reminded me to slow down, have more grace, more love, and truly become a disciple in my own community. You never know what testimony is walking alongside you.🤍🇧🇷🌎

When I boarded a plane to Brazil, my heart was focused on serving. I wanted to love the children, encourage the community, and be used by God however He saw fit.

What I didn’t expect was that God would use the trip to answer a longing I didn’t even know I carried.

I grew up without sisters. Over the years, I’ve been blessed with friendships, but something different happened in Brazil. God brought women into my life who showed me what true sisterhood in Christ looks like. Women who prayed with me, encouraged me, celebrated victories, shared burdens, and pointed me back to Jesus when I needed it most.

The beautiful thing about the family of God is that it isn’t limited by bloodlines, geography, or background. Through Christ, we gain brothers and sisters who help us grow in faith and reflect His love.

Mission trips often change the people we serve, but sometimes God changes us through the people we meet along the way.

One of the greatest gifts of following Jesus is never having to walk alone.

Who has God placed in your life to help carry your burdens and point you toward Christ?

Jesus, thank You for the gift of spiritual family. Thank You for the women who encourage me, challenge me, and remind me of Your truth. Help me not only receive that love but also become that kind of sister for someone else. Amen.

Reach out to a woman who has encouraged your faith and tell her specifically how God has used her in your life.

When I was a really young age the Lord made me have a heart for Brazil and the people without me knowing anything about the country or them. Well It truly is amazing how the Lord works because all these years later I clearly saw why he made me have a tender heart for the country. These past 10 days have truly been indescribable. From planting seeds for Christ, to furthering the kingdom of the Lord, and lastly creating unbelievable relationships with people along the way. What a mighty merciful God we serve that I won't ever be able to thank enough for his grace on my life! To cap off everything I made public proclamation of my faith and fully surrendered my life to Christ by getting baptized. Thank you Lord for using this mission trip and Brazil to change my life forever.
