While the last few days have been pretty chilly, fall 2020 (Sep-Nov) was the warmest or near warmest fall on record for many of our climate sites! 🍂

An accessible delight on Merritt Island, the boardwalk at Rotary Park winds through a surprising variety of habitats on its circuitous route surrounding the nature center. While just shy of a half mile in length, it holds your attention for much longer than a linear walk of that length- and it’s fun.

Poking around Micco Scrub Sanctuary on a blustery day. Sloshy on the White Trail and windy with a chance of widowmakers on the Red Trail. Another fine Brevard County natural land down in the scrubby south sector of our stomping grounds.

It’s always a delight to visit Black Point Wildlife Drive at Merritt Island NWR, our nearest go-to spot for birding. These are from visits over the past couple years. While winter is the best time for birding, there is always wildlife to see.
