Our family is incredibly saddened and heartbroken to announce the passing of my father, George M. Beck this week. He died at home with my Mom, JoAnne Konkel Beck on Monday, February 23, 2026, from complications of lung disease, which he had been battling along with dementia, for the last several years. For anyone who knew my Dad, knew he was the life of the party and always good for a laugh. He was always involved in the community, first in Centreville and then in Vienna, and he was fiercely devoted to his family. He volunteered at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and loved rescuing beagles with my Mom. He was always involved in my school and sports activities, and I know so many of you have memories with him!
Even over the past years while he was struggling with his health, he continued to volunteer in local government, campaigning and with Gerry Connelly, even protesting on the corner of Rte 123 with his portable oxygen tank!!
We lost such an amazing human, member of the community, husband and father, and we’re all just trying to understand how life functions without him.
We won’t be having a formal service, but instead, will celebrate his life one of his fav places, the Vienna Inn - date and time TBD.
In lieu of any flowers or flower arrangements, my family asks that a donation be made in my Dad’s name to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and BREW <Beagle Rescue Education and Welfare>. Homeward Trails Animal Rescue Beagle Rescue, Education, & Welfare
Thank you for the outpouring of love and support we’ve received from those of you who already knew. We apologize in advance if we can’t respond to everyone but we sincerely appreciate all of your love, thoughts and blessings during this immensely difficult time. 💜🙏

One month ago today, these two crazy kids brought me home to add to our family. It’s been an amazing month of playing, dog parks, adventuring, making tons of new friends, and so many snuggles. I know I’m biased, but I have to say that @swagmaster1127 and @lauradevilbisskeegan are the best dog parents!
