It’s taken me a few days to dwell on things …

As a young Queenslander, playing for Brisbane at Suncorp is something I dreamed of growing up. Making it a reality was even better than I imagined. The last couple of years have been so special, and it’s sad to say goodbye to such an enjoyable chapter.

To my family and friends, I’m so grateful for all the sacrifices, support and belief you’ve given me through the years. You’ve helped me through tough times, and ultimately are the only reason I am in the position I am today.

To the staff, I’m thankful for the belief so many have placed in me. The opportunities I’ve been given to show what I can do, have been so critical for me, and something I will always be grateful for.

To my teammates, who have made each and every day so enjoyable from the moment I walked in, it’s been a pleasure to befriend and share the pitch with so many talented and kind people. Again, so many of you have helped me become a better player, and the guidance/advice I’ve been given since stepping into professional football has been vital. I’ll miss you guys ❤️❤️

Finally, to the fans. I want to thank you for the support you’ve given me since returning to Brisbane. Playing in front of you home and away, has been special! The love and support you have shown me has never dwindled, I feel it always and it’s something which has given me so much confidence across the last 2 years, and something which I will always remember. I will miss playing in front of you.

I will remain a Brisbane fan from afar and hope to be back here again one day!
Sammy 🧡🖤
