I’m so sad to leave but I am so excited to start the next part of our Community Health and Medical Anthropology: Guatemala program.

This program could not be more perfect for me as a double major in Premed Biological Sciences and Spanish Linguistics. We are here doing Field Work in a Medical Anthropological study on food insecurity in Acatenango, Guatemala. This past week in Antigua we got the wonderful opportunity to hear from so many great researchers and experts in the field as we begin our study in Acatenango. I am so grateful to have expanded my understanding of the language, research, and culture as we head into this next chapter!

It still feels surreal I just competed in @missazusa, but that’s a wrap 🫨

To all the girls, not only are you all gorgeous, but you have the most genuine hearts of gold. As we went through pageant weekend, I enjoyed listening to each and every one of your stories and goals. You’re true inspirations and I’m grateful I got the chance to know you. The pageant may be over, but I’ll always be rooting for you. You girls deserve everything 🤩👏

Also, congrats to @kjusttheletterjohnson for winning Miss Arizona USA!! Your dream finally came true and I couldn’t be happier for you. You’re gonna crush it at Miss USA 👸

Then, shoutout to my friend @lidia4thewin for coming in clutch with my makeup and hair. You did an AMAZING job and like I told you, we’re married now. You’re tied to me for life. Thank you 🤣

Shoutout to @jadelinglab, my incredibly talented pageant coach and friend. I never would’ve imagined myself ever entering the world of pageantry until I met you. Even though I didn’t place, I got so much out of this experience. I’ve always struggled with confidence, but you helped me really step out of my comfort zone. I won’t give up and will keep working towards building my confidence and becoming the best version of myself. Thank you for everything ilysm 🥹❤️

Finally, thank you to everyone who came to the pageant, donated, voted, sent me kind messages, and following along this entire journey. Your support meant the world to me and you made me feel so loved. Thank you 🥰
