What a fantastic day! Visited the @brianfrinkart gallery today and bought some very reasonably priced, beautiful prints of his original paintings. The exhibition is also on tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 22, from 1-5pm. The drive from Rochester was about an hour and so peaceful … just able to think my thoughts in such a lovely way. Thank you Brian!

The artworks are hung on the wall of the
community library of Sisid Anejo. Other
prints, art cards, zines, small sculptures
and other collections are put in folders,
portfolios or on the shelves. It’s my last
day in Sisid Anejo and during the late
afternoon and through the evening, I
very slowly finish packing and cleaning
before I leave for Quito on the bus the
next morning.

Teresa and Aracely are cleaning the kitchen
and the office at El Centro de Turismo
Comunitario Sisid Anejo, and I prepare to
leave, documenting the books, magazines,
and art that I brought for the community
library and put them on the bookshelves.
I frame some photos I took of Sisid Anejo
two years ago and hang them in the office
along with a couple works of art, feeling
grateful they’re part of the collection here.

In the evening I visit Ramona and Raimundo
who first took care of me and helped me
settle into Sisid Anejo in 2011-2012 when
I stayed for nine months. We have dinner
and catch up. They want me to spend the
night, but I tell them I have too much to do
and have friends visiting in the morning. I
walk back to the center in the night, enjoying
all the stars over the Andes along the way.

Win! Win! Win!
Support the Arts! Support the Gallery!
Procure this Art!
And celebrate 3 lovely Taureans birthdays! 🎂

Why support the Gallery?

From the moment Nova stepped forward with the generous idea of donating a painting, the spirit of community and creativity blossomed. Artists from near and far began contributing their work, embracing the mission of supporting this beloved gallery—a space that has long been dedicated to uplifting emerging artists, especially women and mothers, as we all are mothering and nurturing our creative spirit.

At the heart of this gallery is Kendra, a lifelong artist whose passion for the arts began with a paintbrush in her hand as a child. She transformed that love into teaching, championing local talent, and eventually opening the gallery in Algoma, WI, in 2014. For over a decade, this gallery has served as a vital platform for artists, fostering creativity and connection. Through the years, Kendra’s dedication has carried the gallery through its challenges: navigating the pandemic, overcoming personal hardships, relocating from Algoma, and transitioning to an online presence before finding a new home in Milwaukee.

We invite you to join us in sustaining this haven for creativity. Whether through a donation, purchasing artwork, or spreading the word about the gallery, your contribution helps keep the flame of artistic expression alive. Together, we can ensure the spirit of this gallery for years to come.

Donate today and be a part of the story of resilience, creativity, and community.
