Details & tickets: https://eastendbooksptown.com/event/2026-10-23/richard-carey-daytimepoet-wbrian-carmody-1023-5pm #poetry #poetryreading #ptown #eastendbooksptown

Richard Carey is a poet from the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. His debut chapbook, DAYTIMEPOET was published by &Change.

He is the founder of Pointed Finger Press. He resides in Provincetown, MA.

Brian Carmody is a poet, and his recent book was published by Pointed Finger Press.

PRAISE FOR DAYTIMEPOET

“Richard Carey’s DAYTIMEPOET is a meditation on perception at the edge of consciousness. The poet sees a strange / ambiguity in the revolving door between day and night and he goes out to hear this / new world dripping –. These poems investigate time and its interstices — tiny passages only available to the most attentive among us. And Carey, with a hyperaware sensibility, pays attention. He is the maestro: Nothing exists / until I say it does – and as a reader, I buy that. On the pages of DAYTIMEPOET, Carey brings life’s shimmering moments into existence.”

— Cynthia Bargar, author of Sleeping in the Dead Girl’s Room

Surprise! Issue No. 12 is arriving a little sooner than expected! We’re very excited to announce that & Change will be switching to a quarterly publishing cadence moving forward, as opposed to being published triannually as we have been since 2022. This is due in large part to the increased number of submissions we’ve been receiving! Thank you all so much for your continued support, and please continue sending in your poems!

This new issue features a beautiful cover photo by Jake Fuqua (@fuquafilm) and is now available for preorder! Issues will begin shipping on April 1, 2026.

If you’re a subscriber, you’ll continue to receive your issues as usual. New subscriptions and renewals will now be for 4 issues instead of 3. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Incredibly inspiring evening hosting friend and fellow @wheatoncollege alum @repgabeamo who is seeking reelection to Congress from Rhode Island. Our democracy is at stake, especially evident after yesterday's debacle in Alaska. We need leaders like Gabe who believe in peace and prosperity for all; not greed and corruption that benefits just a few. Let's all get out there and take back the House and Senate in 2026. Thanks #Ptown for coming out and supporting the future of our great country. See link in bio to support Gabe's reelection. #vote #donate #canvas #takebackamerica #gabeamo
