Official Selection • 33rd San Diego Latino Film Festival. ✨

Proud to share the news Lucia & Nicole will screen at the San Diego Latino Film Festival in March 2026. @sdlatinofilmfestival

This one comes full circle. In 2020, We Choose To Go was accepted to this festival and was meant to screen in person in March 2020, until the pandemic shut everything down. To return years later with a new film feels quietly surreal and deeply affirming.

Grateful for this film, this cast, this crew, and the long road that led us back here. 🩵

Thrilled to announce “Lucia & Nicole” is a finalist for the Jen Lynn Award at @hobnobbenfilmfestival, honoring LGBTQIA+ representation in film. 🏳️‍🌈

It’s an honor to have this story recognized. “Lucia & Nicole” has always been about love, chosen family & community told through the lens of queer intimacy and the quiet ways we take care of each other.

So grateful to the festival for the recognition, and to everyone who came together to make this film.

Honored to have won Best New Mexico Short (Gold) at @mindfieldabq! Shooting “Lucia & Nicole” in Albuquerque was such a wonderful experience and being able to return to screen the film in its hometown was beautiful. Forever grateful to the entire team of people that came together to make this short a reality. And the organizers at @mindfieldabq for creating a space to share and showcase the NM film community.

On the cusp of finishing high school, Lucia finds her childhood friend living out on the street having been kicked out after she’s come out, a discovery that challenges and reveals a new dynamic in a long-lost friendship.
