Guatemala… a week later 🇬🇹

It’s been a week since I last saw these faces. A week since I was in the village… building homes, laughing, hugging, praying… loving on people.
But the truth is… I didn’t just go there to give. I received more than I could ever bring. Their love… it’s different. It’s pure. It’s real. It’s unconditional.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35

For the last 3 years, this mission has been changing me… but this time, something hit deeper. I came back and reflected… and realized it wasn’t just about what we built there… but what God is building in me.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God…” – Psalm 51:10

This trip made me a better husband, a better father, a better son… because it reminded me what really matters: presence, love, humility.

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” – Matthew 20:26

But here’s the most important part… this isn’t just about going on a mission trip. It’s about the posture of your heart. What are you willing to change? What are you willing to sacrifice… to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus? Not just out there… but back home—with your family, your neighbors, the people you see every day.

“Let us not love with words… but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18

I’m still working on my heart. Staying humble. Not getting comfortable. Not becoming blind to what God is doing.

“In humility value others above yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3

To my brothers and sisters on this trip… I saw God in you. We didn’t just build homes… we built something real.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1

Those hands… different lives, different stories… but all connected.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these… you did for Me.” – Matthew 25:40

God is moving. And I don’t want to miss it.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

Some people build for profit…Others build for purpose 🙏🏻

This week in Guatemala, we built two homes for families who needed more than just a roof… they needed stability, dignity, and most importantly Hope.

And as we were building, this verse stayed with me:

“The wise man built his house on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24

Jesus wasn’t talking about construction.
He was talking about our foundation.

About the difference between being wise… and a fool.

A wise man does not simply understand the truth. A wise man acts and does according to that understanding.

The one who builds his life on it.

And the house He’s talking about…
isn’t a physical house.

It’s your life.
Everything you build.
Everything you hold together.

Because you can build something that looks right & shiny by the world’s standards…
and still have no real foundation.

Building on the rock means building on Him.
On His truth.
On obedience, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Because the storm will come.
And when it does… what you built your life on gets exposed.

Standing there, laying block by block…
pouring the cement that holds it all together…

it became clear to me…we weren’t just building houses.

We were building His Kingdom.
Building legacy.

Not just something temporary.
Not just for a season…
but something that can stand through whatever comes.

Real estate has always been a tool for me,
but only if you know what you’re building for.

A way to build.
A way to serve.
A way to be part of something bigger than just transactions.

Because at the end of the day,
it’s not just about what you build…

It’s whether it stands!!

Different country.
Same calling.

Build what matters 🏠✝️
