Oh summer
you wrecked me open shattered me on the rocks by the shore left me breathless and then asked me to say yes again
I will never forget this one
it had the shape of a near death experience
and I now stand, face forward,
the only direction toward the love and liberation
I came here to embody.

Humbled and astounded. Tender and fierce.

I trust you God, and I Surrender. Thank you.

And to all my Earth Angels, pictured and not,
🙇🏽‍♀️🙏🏽🥹✨🫶💪🏽🌀🌻❤️‍🔥
We ride at Dawn.

May Peace, Love, Unity & Joy be Upon You,
Within You, and All Around You.

When time bends and loosens its grip, we meet inside the fold. No clocks, no labels, just breath and
intention, shaping something from nothing. The quiet becomes ours, and we make a moment that feels alive.

There’s no finish line, no summary, just the echo of what we made, still humming in the quiet.

Can you hear it ?

Today marks 3 years since my mother left this earthly plane. 3 years since I held her hand in mine. 3 years since our last impromptu kitchen dance party. 3 years since I’ve heard her say my name.

Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday. Other times it feels like it was a lifetime ago; like the memory of having a mother at all is nearly out of reach, like it’s impossible to recall that I belonged to someone once. It feels like a lot of things but it’s never really felt like 3 years.

I keep thinking about the day she died— about how the weather was impossibly beautiful and she was impossibly gone. I couldn’t make sense of it. Instead of reflecting the ache of her absence, the sky drenched everything around me in a shade of honey gold. The contrast was disorienting; it almost felt like nature was taunting me.

I hold that image now with deep grief and reverence. I think a lot about the idea that when we die, our souls are knit back into the fabric of the universe. If this is true then it would make perfect sense why the sky reflected back to me a beauty that defied all logic. A beauty that was Maureen Hayes.

Today I will light a candle in her honor. I’ll release flowers to the stream behind my house, one by one, naming my adorations for her and what I’d like for her to know about me now. I’ll tell her about how I’m working hard to heal the generational wounds she never got to; that I’m breaking out of the cages I inherited. I’ll thank her for trying to keep me safe in the ways she knew how. I’ll marvel at all the new (and improved) ways she’s learned to do that in the last 3 years. I’ll honor her by doing things she loved while knowing I honor her best by continuing the work of becoming the fullest, most honest expression of her daughter and nothing less.

Here’s to you, Mama Bear. I will miss you for as long as I inhabit the body you gave me. I love you up to the sky.

💙,
Aurena
